So...Brady leaves the game in the 4th quarter with the Pats up 42-21. Right after he exits, the Phins get a quick score on a pick 6 from Cassel. Now there are less then 10 minutes remaining in the game and the Pats have the ball with a 2 TD lead.

What do they do? Bring Brady in and immediately start throwing down the field...deep balls to Moss.

Of Course, Brady ends up with his 6th TD pass of the day, puts the Pats up 49-28 and that's the final score.

Shockingly, the spread was about 17 points last time I saw the line.

Anyone still doubt the Pats are playing the points as much as the other team?

Im more inclined to think the Pats want to go 16-0 and have CheataCheck go undefeated, win another SB and then retire, than I am to think this "genius" has $$$ down in Vegas.

So you think a 21 point lead with 10 minutes remaining is good enough to pull Brady, but a 14 point with 9 minutes to go and the ball is so precarious, you've got to reinsert Brady and start tossing deep bombs to Moss?

They were winning that game no matter what...they wanted to win by 3 scores for some (almost) unexplainable reason.

I'm telling you...this is twice in 3 weeks they played the spread rather than the scoreboard.

The name of the game is to win.

You don't call the dogs off.

I don't want them to win, in fact i think I hate them, in part for his arrogance, in part for the Michigan portion of the site who trump Brady as the best thing since sliced bread-

But i don't think they're gambling.
I dont think they're playin the pt. spread.

By "they", who are you referring to?

If I'm trotting the theory out there, it would start and end with Bill B.

I'm not even saying it's some crazy conspiracy. He knows he has a monster team. He loves competition.

If he likes gambling, I'm sure he could justify betting on football if he only bet on the Pats to win and cover.

Just saying this guy has tons of money, loose ethics, and they've played extremely questionable 4th quarters in 2 of the last 3 games.

Their first goal is to win a Super Bowl. Second goal in 16-0.

I'm not saying this is going against either of those goals.

I'm saying don't bet dogs against the Pats.

By the way, his own media began questioning him this time.

He may have showed his hand too much this time and could back off, but I watch a lot of games and a lot of lines. These 2 games are extremely odd.

You don't call the dogs off.

But Seth...he DID call the dogs off. Brady was out of the game and he put him back in.

Hey, I don't care. I didn't even think twice about laying money on the Pats despite a massive spread, potential letdown, and the Phins actually had a pride game to play.

I don't know if he playing the spread. I just think he is an asshole trying to run-up the score on everyone to prove he did not need to cheat. I hope it bites him right square in the butt with a major injury to a key player (please let it be Bruschi). Could you imagine the whining out of Boston if a Dolphins defender took a run at Brady late in the fourth quarter?

I can't believe people find it hard to believe. It's happened a lot before, a ref just got caught for it, and it is pretty suspicious.

I'm not sure if I completely believe it yet, but there's definitely a lot of smoke there.

I think he just wanted Brady to get a 6th TD, like Palmer got a few weeks back. And to salt the game away at the same time.

Why the 6th TD? Is it about Brady setting career highs every week, or winning easily and keeping everyone healthy?

I think he just wanted Brady to get a 6th TD, like Palmer got a few weeks back. And to salt the game away at the same time.

Then why take him out in the first place?

I don't think it's a mortal lock that he has money on these games, but this isn't some tinfoil hat theory...he 4th quarter behavior as a coach has been erratic in 2 of the last 3 games.

This is a guy who is known for NEVER making strategic mistakes in a game and he's breaking every rule in the book against the Browns and Dolphins not to secure wins, not to secure multi-TD wins, but actively trying to score late game TDs that magically allow his team to cover big spreads against underdogs.

We know the guy is shady. We know he's not ethical. We know he's arrogant.

I wouldn't find it shocking if he he dropped $100K on himself to win and cover against the Phins and I don't think he'd have trouble sleeping at night after doing it.

I don''t think it would make sense for Bill B to gamble, he makes to much $ already.

Plus, they were up 2 TD's on the road with ten minutes left. I would have been shocked if Brady didn't come back in.

P.S. On that "What celeb do you look like" website, Oliver Stone was my number 1 match.

The biggest gamblers in the world are rich assholes who don't need the money? Plus, apply that logic to the rest of his personality and actions.

Did he need a sideline camera to beat the Jets?

But honestly, you wouldn't bring your starter in with 9 minutes to go and a two TD lead?

I think your Browns game theory carries more weight

Yeah, might have brought Brady in, but I doubt I would have brought him in and started throwing the ball downfield instead of running out the clock.

Why? The passing game was there all day

I wouldn't have brought Brady back in if I thought 21 points was so safe I didn't need him.

If I did bring him back in, I'm certainly not tossing 50 yard bombs down the sideline. It's a high risk throw, greater chance my QB takes a shot, low % throw in terms of completions, an incompletion stops the clock, etc.

Plus, after they are down there they rip off a 10 yard run and a 3 yard run to get them to the 16 yard line. Again, this is a prime spot to kill the clock and run. They can bleed a minimum of another minute off the clock and even more if they get a first down...instead they throw into the end zone. They are already in chip-shot FG range for a 3 score advantage. They wanted 21 points for some reason. They are putting themselves at greater risk throwing in that spot. What if they throw a pick 6? What if Brady is hit and fumbles (taking the 3 off the board)?

When they brought Brady back in, they only took 2 minutes off the clock for that drive and they removed Brady again once they had the 21 point lead.

I think Both games were shady at the end and obviously this could all just be a big coincidence, but I think I definitely think it's naive for anyone to dismiss it completely (not saying you are).

I definitely know where you're coming from.

All I'm saying is if I was Vegas or the NFL, I'd be mighty intrigued by his erratic behavior as a coach.

I can't guarantee he's doing anything, but I'd be checking into it.
