I don't know about anyone else, but I'm looking forward to tomorrow's Rich Hoffman column that will surely say "If they beat Dallas next week, the Eagles could make a run at the Super Bowl." Ah, hope springs eternal.

The one thing I'm not understanding is all the media coverage on how McNabb suddenly shows no signs of having a knee injury. The AP recap made a huge deal of it, and the Philly papers are googoogaga over the fact that Reid called a QB Draw that netted an entire 4 yards.

Did anyone else notice that McNabb looked horrible when he was flushed out of the pocket, either being chased down by a lumbering defensive lineman or throwing way off the mark while on the run?

You don't think Hoffman would be that lame to print "He's back....scrambling", right?

He's still not 100%, but he did elude a defenseman on that "brilliant" play-action call late in the game that almost netted a sack.

I wonder if people believe that their red zone issues are over now, even though they had 3 more chances to punch it in from inside the 20 and failed to do so.

Beating the putrid Vikings will surely have the faithful convinced the Eagles are back to their "winning ways", just as many will point to a QB draw as a sign McNabb is healthy.

What will probably happen is the Boys will put a hurtin' on 'em this week and seal the deal for the season.

Up here in MN, it's discussed as a known fact that McNabb will be the Vikes starting QB on opening day 2008.

It certainly doesn't look good. Although the Boys' pass D is only a bit better than the Vikes' (with that fraud Roy Williams back there), that front 7 is nasty and they're coming off a bye, wanting to make a statement on national TV. Not to mention "the NFC East goes through Philly".

This could be like one of those Wile E Coyote cartoons.

I find that really interesting. That's a logical choice in a lot of ways with their QB situation, offense, and coach.

The real question is what Childress thinks of McNabb...he might not even like him.

What we know about Childress is he's the opposite of Reid in just about every way but demeanor and facial hair choices.

In two seasons, his big moves were:

1. Paying big money to Chester Taylor in Free agency.

2. Drafting a running back in the top 10 this year.

3. Drafting a linebacker in the first round of 2006.

4. Only drafting 1 offensive lineman in 2 years.

There's a decent chance Childress doesn't like McNabb as a player (not sure either way).

I do find the Vikings as an interesting suitor. All the talk of how much McNabb likes playing in domes was interesting, too.

Having Holcomb and Jackson as QB's probably does a lot to make you forget disliking someone like McNabb as a player (if he does)

Could make an interesting bidding war between the Vikes and Bears.

Of course, Reid would probably trade McNabb for five 5ths than a 1st, saying that "it adds up to a 1st, but you get more players".

McNabb in Minnyhaha... there's something very Randall Cunningham about the idea. McNabb would feel right at home with that receiver corps in Minnesota.

I was forced to listen to part of the game yesterday on WYSP...

Holy crap, does that suck.

I haven't listened to a game in a long time. Merrel Reese sounds like he's suffering from Marketers Tourette syndrome. He'll be calling the game and then just break into a product plug then get right back into calling the game without losing a breath.

And every friggin thing is sponsored!

I learned yesterday that the redzone is brought to you by Volkswagen.

Merrill couldn't have been worse than Dick & Baldy.

"And that gentle brush could be our Matt Blatt Splat of the Game".

I wonder how Quick can be gushing over these WRs with a straight face. Of course, he did say that punting on 4th and 15 in the playoffs last year was the right call, so I guess it's grain of salt time.

And there was one call that Baldy seemingly missed, that when Dick asked him about it, there was about 2 seconds of silence. I don't know if he caught him dumbfounded or grabbing a drink, but it was kinda awkward.

I was forced to listen to YSP as well yesterday. He did poke fun at that, calling for somebody to sponser the "bonehead play of the day" (after the Vikes failed to down a punt at the 5 and instead had it go into the end zone).

Somebody would make millions with that sponsorship on this team ...

How about the camera work? I have NEVER seen a game so poorly shot.

I was thinking the same thing but forgot about it after the game.

They missed a TON of replays and they were having a lot of difficulty following the ball in the passing game.

I think we are looking into thinks a bit much fellas. He was asked if he liked playing in a dome because, well...he was playing in a dome. Its not like it was an unusual response, the guy played at the 'cuse for 4 years...

Isn't this game an uneasy reminder of the Detroit game?

The explosiveness is back.
McNabb is improving
The pass defense sucked
Brian Westbrook had a good game.

I can't get excited about the offense being able to beat a poor defense, especially when it wasn't even a blowout.

Remember that Green Bay and the Giants were able to get lots of pressure on McNabb, and I seriously doubt McNabb can just side-step the Cowboys pass rush.

Maybe they are on the road to recovery, but it is also just as feasible that not that much has changed with the offense. It's not as though there is some new strategy in place to compensate for McNabb, or his lack of protection. Compounded by the fact that the defense has a real offense to stop this week. Dawkins coming back just makes me wonder how rusty he'll be.

What, you mean you're not on the same page as McNabb with his single, fantastic four-yard QB sneak that will surely keep defenses on edge for the rest of the season?
