Not being a college football fan I was wondering how good Kolb was/is. The Eagles moved up to about the same spot the Redskins did to get Jason Campbell 3years ago and after watching yesterday's Skins/Cowboys game it looks like it was a good move.

Personally, I don't think McNabb is going anywhere next year, however IF he were to leave I was wondering how Kolb would do.

I remember before McMahon (the shitty one) took over the media was talking him up, saying how he was favored in Detroit by a lot of the coaches over Harrington. Then look what happened.

just wonderin'

A steaming pile of dogshit would be favored over Joey Harrington.

Kolb, or "The Kolb" as his teamates call him is a cross between Tom Brady and a Centaur (a GodManHorse).

In all seriousness, he was a monster at Houston, has a good arm (not as strong as McNabb's), can run a little (think more Romo as a runner than a true scrambler), is supposedly an excellent leader, and the two holes in his game (according to scouts) were the system he played in and scattershot accuracy.

From watching him play in the pre-season, it seems clear the system won't be an issue and his demeanor impressed everyone who came in contact with him (from players to media, etc.). it was also clear in the pre-season that he's pretty unflappable, or at least wasn't fazed by pressure or his first taste of the NFL.

The things I saw in the pre-season that were "red flags" of sorts was the arm didn't look as good as advertised (to me). He could get it there, but it didn't seem like he had much zip on the ball unless he got to stand in the pocket and deliver. His pocket presence was also questionable and his accuracy was, indeed, scattershot. He seemed to be hot and cold, which isn't a good trait in this offense (IMO). I was personally impressed with the intangibles I thought I could perceive based on the imperical evidence and I was a bit underwelmed with his raw talent.

Frankly, I would have been more interested in a guy know as a pinpoint passer than a guy described as "streaky" with his accuracy.

I think he can play, though...just have to wait and see how well. That's part of the reason I want to see him this season. The Eagles are going to have a reasonably high pick next year and I'd like to have an idea of what Kolb can do before the draft.

i think its safe to say that garcia proved last year that mcnabb pretty much sucks. he couldnt move the ball an inch. than garcia steps in and promptly wins every game and leads them to the 2nd ranked offense in the nfl. of course loosing stallworth didtn help mcnabbs cause this season. also andy reid is a dumb ass cuz they coulda kept garcia as a back up at least. he wanted to stay. feeley looks like a turnover machine. but some reason i still like him. he plays with a lot of heart and has big play ability. that can carry u a long way. as far as kolb is concerned i dont know what he did in college or in the pre season but typically it takes about three years for a QB to develop if they develop at all. unless your a tom brady, roethlissberger or young mcnabb, which they dont come along often. i dont wanna watch 3 more losing seasons. i say we go with feeley and get him someone to throw too via fee agency so he can stop forcing it and gettin picked off. he did really well against NE and in 2002 when he took over for 6 games.

Feely can't look off the DB's or go past his second read, which is almost always short. He lobs the ball to where the receiver is supposed to be, come hell or high water, and has more than proven why every team that he has played for gave up on him so far. He is nowhere near the answer for the Eagles, and is certainly not better than McNabb just in the fact he doesn't even try to read the defense at all. In fact, it could be stated that he (along with horrible play calling against the Seahawks) was mostly responsible for both of the last losses.

It's time to see what Kolb can do if McNabb isn't ready to go next week.

when he played for miami they had no pass protection. tom brady wouldnt be successful with them. he never threw one pass for sandiego and he did well with phili with the exception of the seattle game. mcnabb has had countless terrible performances. he sucked in every one of those nfc championship games and in the superbowl. and it all roots back to the simple fact that he just cant pass the ball accuratly. however feeley can. yea he's made a lot of stupid mistakes in the last 2 games. but our offense drives down the field with him at QB. with mcnabb they just sputter and repeatadly go 3 and out. over and over and over. and lose. he's washed up he cant pass and he was never really any good. every time hes played a good team in his entire career he's lost. repeat he's never beaten a good team. ever. not ever. oh he's great against the detroit lions who are god awful. and yea he beat washington, dallas and Ny when they were down. face facts T.O. was right about him. they woulda been better off with favre. i hate to admit it as much as anyone cuz i was a huge fan but he just aint got it. hall of fame my ass. hall of shame. he'll go down as one of the greatest choke artists ever. he couldn't compete with good teams. right now phili is next to buffalo. you cant get him weapons cuz he dont want em for some reason. he ran T.O. off cuz he was losin his spot light. they shoulda kept TO and got rid of reid and mcnabb. that woulda ruined dallas and kept phili a contender. TO and westbrook on the same offense would be unstoppable. any half way decent QB could lead that offense to the playoffs.

i completely agree that McNabb needs to go im tired of reading his silly blogs because he never punctuates his sentences and always says a whole lot of stupid bullshit with little regard to actual fact trade this qb to someone like new yourk where spelling doesnt matter as much
