First, NTF to F_B for the photo.
Second, if you want to look for reasons for an upset, they are an NFC team playing against an AFC one, and preparations SHOULD be different. They don't see the Birds regularly enough, so they might have a shot by that logic.
Also, they've got to take the playbook and burn it, because Belichek likes coaching against a team's tendencies (while switching up his own), so if they can catch them off-guard in that respect, their chances of victory increase.
Finally, throw them off on defense by doing things like rushing 2 and dropping 9, or putting 10 guys on the LOS, or something different. If they go into this game following their same stubborn philosophy (as Reid said in his PC Monday), they are going to get absolutely smoked.

Guy wrote into the Jody Mac show yesterday with a pretty crazy idea.
Eagles need to assume that the Patriots will score a TD on every possession. Won't happen most likely, but assume it will.
In that case, Eagles should never punt the ball or kick a field goal. Go for it on every 4th down regardless of field position. Pats will score anyway, so no big deal. The defense will have more time to rest and you might wear down their D a little bit.
Obviously it will never happen, but it would be interesting as hell if it did.

Why not. They have absolutely no chance to win playing these guys straight up, so why not try something off the wall and see what happens?

That's my point - conventional playcalling will go nowhere, you've got nothing to lose, the Pats are already changing the way the game is played - why not get wacky (not pass wacky) and see what happens?

Oh, btw SZR, I forget who's on in the afternoon, but John Smallwood absolutely owned one of the hosts the other day and blew his McNabb bashing out of the water.

Must've been a guest host because neither Eskin or JMac is a McNabb basher.

Naw it was the midday guys on 950. One of them is a total McNabb basher, saying they should put Feeley in and Small's question was "Well, what has Feeley shown you to believe he's better?"
He also said that if he has questions about McNabb that he should go down and ask them to him directly during his PC, and the guy totally waffled on it. No nads.

I gotcha. I can never listen to those guys but I kinda like them because they are Phillies apologists like myself.
And they usually talk about sports, unlike Gargano on 610 who would rather discuss which hoagie shop has the better meatball sub: Joey JoeJoe Shabadoo's or some place in rural NJ nobody has heard of.

Do I think they'll win? No, not really but stranger things have happened in this league.
No they haven't.

Only way they win is if Brady pulls a hammy in the first quarter before they've scored 21 points. Other than that, carnage.

Does anybody expect any visible emotion from Reid after new England cracks the 100 point barrier?

Maybe after laughing at what the Birds have tried to throw against them.
Even beyond that, they'd STILL cover.

Edit:
Does anybody expect any visible emotion from Reid after new England cracks the 100 point barrier, and Reid is standing on the sidelines, pretending not to sneak peeks at the scoreboard- all the while realizing that it's a defensive coach/guru that's putting up those type of points on him?

Another thing to depress you -
The Birds gave up a 4th to get Dainty Stallworth. And couldn't keep him.
The Pats give up a 4th to get Randy Moss.
Just doesn't seem fair.

It IS fair. The Birds followed their tin standard (gold in their minds) and got jack for their minimal efforts.

Bass- what makes you think Reid would have handled Moss any better than Owens?
He's a cream puff.

I think he's proven time and time again that when it comes to managing troubled young men, he turns them to drugs.
He's 3 for his last 3, counting T.O.'s "whoopsie".

Bass- what makes you think Reid would have handled Moss any better than Owens?
I think Moss is a little bit more mentally stable than Owens, but that's nit-picking. The only reason he went after Owens (besides the ridiculously low price tag) is because Owens is the best example of a West-Coast offense WR (whatever that means).
I know it's pointless to point out that Moss could've ended up here, since Reid wasn't interested in him in the least, but Moss would've made McNabb a better QB, but it would've involved Reid modifying his system enough to utilize Moss's freakish talents.
Quite simply, Reid sucks.

What did it for you? Splashing the refs with water, hitting female cops with his car, telling team sponsors to "Get to the back of the bus!", or telling the world "I like smoking weed" or "I play hard half the time"?

Do we seriously need a crazy contest between Moss and Owens?
Accidental drug overdoses? Topless workouts in a front yard? Crying games on Donnie Deutch? Driving around a city with a traffic cop on the hood of a car? Straight cash homey? I play when I want to play? Falling in love with a half sister?
If both of their mothers did the sensible thing and threw themselves down a flight of stairs in the first trimester, we'd all be better off (JMHO). They are both straight fucking whackjobs.
