I've been super impressed by the Eagles offense, both play calling and execution. There is something to be said for laying all on the line, going for broke, putting the nose to the grindstone, and every other cliche. Whatever, it has me interested in a game that I truly thought I would sort of have on as background noise right about this time. Kudos.

...and as for the defense, they aren't doing horribly, but the Patriots are a great football team. I don't think it is possible to scheme for all the crap they can throw at you, and once they get a chance to mix in some run plays in this half, it could spell curtains for the Eagles. Still, overall it was an entertaining half of football.

Kudos to Feeley who is playing well, and I'm amazed that Greg Lewis is making his once-a-year appearance in a game.

Overall the receiving corp still looks like crap, though AJ has spread it around to other pass catchers whose names don't often show up in the stat column during McNabb starts (Scho-boat comes to mind).

Gaffney annoyed me with the mocking wing flap after that end of half TD though -- regulars will remember I was pulling for him to make the squad. But he sucked in the 2006 pre-season, got cut, and was lucky to stick in NE this season after how he played in the AFC divisional loss to the Colts. The dude should be happy to have a job, not gloating.
