That's it.
He should never play for the Eagles again.

if mcnabb gets benched (and he won't), I would rather see what Kolb has then watch Feely win them a few more games in a bad season.

Quick question, because I know some of you have your ears on the vein, but has anyone heard that McNabb's performance issues were due to drinking? My cousin told me over the holiday weekend that a friend of his delivered a pizza to McNabb's house once, the day before a game, and he was wasted with shades on while it was dark out. This was also backed by someone mentioning that this was the reason why he threw up during the Super Bowl, he was hung over from a night of partying before the game. Just wondering if anyone has heard more about this or if it's just some rumor running around.

I don't think they'll bench him, but they clearly should.
Feeley DID give the game away last night, but he also made about 15 throws McNabb refuses to make tat got them in a position to win it.
For whatever reason or reasons, this team is now obviously better without McNabb under center.

I must call BS on this one....the team always stays at a hotel the night before the game, home or away.

IMS, it could have been his daily breakfast pizza (a Cap'n Andy inspired tradition) washed down with Carnation Instant Martinis.
I heard that Ryan Moats had trouble learning the playbook because he was up all night molesting GI Joes.

BTW, I think it's also fair to mention the fact that if McNabb would have thrown a pick 6 to open the game, a ridiculous INT in the end zone that effectively ended the game, overthrown Reggie Brown for an easy TD on the slant, and fallen down for a sack, he would not be getting the "gritty", "fiery" treatment right now.

No doubt.
But they wouldn't even have been in the game with McNabb so no one would really care, IMO.

I think the difference is in the expectations. McNabb essentially played the exact same game as Feeley in the Super Bowl against the Pats (minus the pick 6) and was called a choke artist. Feeley is called on to be the starter after the same performance.
Just wanted to point out the irony.

Reverse the roles and people are calling for McNabb to start in place of Feeley.

There's no irony, one is the franchise guy and high pick and leader and face of the franchise. The other guy is a career back-up who nobody expects anything from.

Agree with NEAG. If he ONLY made 4 mistakes a game, you could live with it. If he had played last night, I would have been able to turn over to Desperate Whooers at 9:00.

But expecting less of someone doesn't make their actual performance any better.
I acknowledge we should all expect more out of a guy making $10 million per year, but that performance has people calling for him to start and McNabb to be benched.
Virtually the same statistical performance from McNabb in the Super Bowl against the Patriots led to him being called an out of shape choke artist.

Right, and we don't want him performing at the same level as a back-up. I think that's the point.

The backup who we're praising for a great performance and not a "backup quality performance" (the irony).

Yeah, it's kind of weird to compare the two teams. McNabb had TO, the Pats are better now. Not sure where you're going with this.

We can do the comparisons of the two teams all night long...they are completely different squads on both sides of the ball and they played different games.
I was just throwing out the fact that Feeley played a pretty good game, lost it pretty much all by himself, and this thread was started to promote him.
I agree that McNabb is done, but through it was a little ironic (especially considering the teams playing, the statistics, and the post-game reactions).
I'm not trying to make a big deal of it.

It just seems to me that the whole offense plays better when he's not there. Think of all the passes completed to guys other than Westbrook. Further, think of how much better the line plays with someone besides McNabb under center. I can't explain it, but it's true.

Oh, I agree.
Part of it is McNabb's eroding skills, part of his is his eroded confidence, part of it is the players around him no longer believe (IMO)...whatever it is, the whole team plays a lot better when 5 is out of the lineup.

I don't agree with the assessment that the same game thrown by McNabb would have been followed by calls for Feeley.
Locally, maybe.
Nationally, no way.
This is still The Patriots that they faced and had a legitimate shot at beating. No one has come even close this year. McNabb, injured thumb or not, would have been given a "good job, almost..." by the national press.
