Which can be traced entirely with their connections to Luke Skywalker and the 2 Live Crew.
Plus being a major hub of the international drug highway always helps.

Probably some degree of truth in both of those. Of course, Shockey, Greg Olsen, Vinny Testaverde, Steve Walsh, Brock Berlin, Ken Dorsey, Dan Morgan, or our very own Jeff Feagles have yet to get clipped or go all Gangsta on someone.
But add Ray-Ray to the other list in some way, shape or form.

That would be an interesting study- to compare those guys who you just named with the Hurricane criminals and see how their respective median household incomes growing up compared.

More fun facts from the past
"Two University of Miami football players suspended for taking part in the assault of a track star were arrested yesterday, the police said. Linebackers JAMES BURGESS, 25, and JEREMY TAYLOR, 22, surrendered to the police and were ordered by a judge to wear electronic bracelets so authorities can monitor their movements. The two men were arrested on charges of one count of burglary with battery, according to a police statement. Burgess, Taylor and receiver JAMMI GERMAN attacked the track team captain..."
"RICKY PERRY, a 23-year-old University of Miami offensive tackle who was arrested on felony gun charges in November and accused of punching his date last week, was suspended indefinitely yesterday by Coach BUTCH DAVIS. The disciplinary action follows the suspensions last week of three other Hurricane players involved in the assault of a track athlete. Athletic Director PAUL DEE said the school just became aware of Perry's November arrest. The case surfaced after the 6-foot-7-inch, 330-pound Perry was arrested Friday. He was charged with hitting his 17-year-old date in the face as well as battery and burglary."
"Miami Hurricanes linebacker ROHAN MARLEY pleaded not guilty yesterday to a charge of aggravated assault against a police officer. The junior, who led Miami in tackles, was arrested July 4 and accused of trying to hit a Miami Beach officer with his pickup truck. He is the son of the late reggae star Bob Marley."

That's really got be a persuasive selling point for Grandmom's trying to decide what college their Grandson's should go to:
Recruiter: "Well, ma'am, we figure most of our student athaletes have about a 50/50 shot of either playing pro ball and buying you a new house, or getting shot and killed.".
Grandmom: [sliding sunglasses down upon face] "LOOKS LIKE THE UNIVERSITY OF MY-AMMMI!!!!"

Looked at Taylor's $900,000 house. It's located in a upscale village community called Palmetto Bay.
A message from the mayor of Palmetto Bay in a seasonal publication:
"All of us in Palmetto Bay are so pleased that Cutler Bay has incorporated and we sincerely welcome new Mayor John Cosgrove and his Council. We know that as the residents of Cutler Bay begin to enjoy the benefits of cityhood, they will be amazed at the difference in the quality of life that comes with local control.
It will be wonderful for Palmetto Bay to have an incorporated neighbor to the south—another government for us to work with to improve quality of life for our entire area.
When we created Palmetto Bay, we were able to dramatically increase the number of police patrolling within our community. The smart crooks have learned to stay away from Pinecrest and Palmetto Bay because the police presence is just too great. This will happen now with Cutler Bay, and we will benefit directly by being buffered between excellent police departments to our north and south."
Apparently not.

Well, considering 100% of their crime has occurred on Sean Taylor's property in 2007, I'll issue the mayor a pass.

Last week I read an article in the NYTimes that stated New York is on pace to have below 500 homicides this year. While that's an impressive stat for a city of over 8 million people, the real bizarre stat is this:
Of those 500 homicides, only 35 were committed by strangers. That's right-- only 35 people have been killed by strangers in New York this year. All the rest were killed by family members, friends, or acquaintances, such as colleagues, classmates, drug dealers, etc. Apparently, this is the way crime is now trending, which is a big problem for the police because they can't get into people's private lives to protect them from those whom they already know.
It sure as Hell sounds like this incident falls in line with that pattern of violence. Choose your friends and acquaintances wisely.

i think this is the way violent crime has usually gone; the old adage being that the police always look first to the spouse when there is a murder, for instance.
the fact that random crime has gone down so much may make it seem like acquaintance crime is trending up, but i don't know if that's really the case.

Which is why violent crime is really not a big deal or problem. Because it would seem that a huge percentage of those that are dying by the sword, are also living by the sword.

NEAG, the scary thing is that I can't tell if you're making those as a joke or if they are unintentional comedy from real Skins fans.
I hate to find humor if this story, but man...you guys are making that quite challenging in this thread.

EDC,
I heard Snyder asked the NFL for Mcnabb as compensation and that the Skins would indeed be willing to part with 2 first round draft picks as compensation..
On a serious note... No team I hate more than the Skins after living in NOVA for awhile but, a moment of silence in respect of the team...
