I was not on Youtube, but a couple videos did pop up when I googled the name.

"Soulja Boy".

Is someone kidding me?

I am taking my wife and daughter and moving to Montana. Go Griz.

F4F, he didn't, but one "could" infer that because the pointed-out issue at hand and the problem that promotes that issue, that removing the issue would remove the problem.

I don't think he was saying that HH is the main problem, though he made it a point to only note that issue. It's just another way for him to promote his displeasure in the way HH is promoted now.

seriously, fred, are you even trying anymore? he made no such point.

Flesh-
Trying to blame rap music for urban violence is like shooting the messenger cause you don't like the message. And he did (and a does on a consistant basis it seems) blame rap music.

Ok, I'll bite, what does "skeet skeet skeet" mean?

The action necessary to begin the "supermanning" process.

And is "Soulja Boy" the son of "Sistah Souljah"? If he is, I'd ask for a DNA test if I was her.

He's not blaming it. He's saying it's a symptom of it, something that all us idiots somehow understood. It's like sores appearing when you have AIDS. The sores aren't causing the AIDS, AIDS are causing the sores.

Well, F_B, I don't know what to tell you. I can tell you this, pretty much every white person believes 98% of Whitlock's take on things in the AA community. So keep fighting to convince everyone otherwise, we're all wrong and you will prove it to us.

KB-

"You're damn straight I blame hip hop for playing a role in the genocide of American black men."

GGB-
That's superawesome that 98% of white people like his message. If they didn't he wouldn't have a job. Just know that a lot of people don't fall for that bull- we know what is to blame for the epic rise of black on black crime in urban cities...

FB is pissed everytime someone puts forth this OBVIOUS sentiment, and in doing so, as ONE of their points cites Hip Hop.

KB summed that relationship best- Aids/Sores and how HH relates to whats goin on.

But FB is like the members of the black media Whitlock cited- "Hey, dont bring up his past- whats that got to do with anything- thats racist WHITE media at its finest".

LOOK IN YOUR HOUSE FB- THE PROBLEM LIES SQUARELY WITHIN AND THE MORE INDEPENDENT THINKERS WITHIN YOUR RACE ARE SAYING IT LOUDLY, OVER THE SHOUTS FROM TOO MANY LIKE YOU WHO STILL PREFER TO POINT THE FINGER AT WHITEY.

F_B, I guess the phrase "playing a role" doesn't mean "main reason" to me, that's all. I see it as a symptom, like I said. Playing a role in the grand scheme of things.

It's amazing, F_B is literally the only AA person I know that doesn't think responsibility needs to be addressed.

I said this earlier, but MLK, Malcolm X, etc. all were about having a sense of responsibility in improving the community. Public Enemy friggin HATES F_B's attitude about it.

You can bring up Taylor's past all you want. I could give two shits. I call a criminal a criminal, and I call Whitlock what he is: an idiot.

Ignoring recent history and then placing FULL CULPABILTY upon black people in these ghettos is condescending, simple-minded, and just plain dumb. Do black people need to do a better job getting out of these ghettos? Yes. But you're not gonna get me to say that "they did it to themselves". I'm not that dumb. Where was all this black on black crime before that? In the 30's, 40's ,50's, 60's and 70's?

IT

DIDN'T

EXIST

What's condescending to black people is the notion that they can't achieve success without the help from others.

....and back to the matter at hand. ESPN and its cohorts were out of line in some of their reporting. I didnt see any sensitivity whatsoever in light of a tragic. They try to sensationlize and get ratings out of what happened and thats something will try to defend because he get a paycheck from them. Thats whats lost in this whole debate. I don't disagree with what some of Whitlock says its his disingenuousness that doesnt sit well with me.

Hulk- NOBODY blames HH.

HH has been cited as a problem.
And it is.

And Im TRYIN to get thru that entire article FB linked (without laughing) so that I can further debate (likely cos Im a bull headed, quasi aggressive idiot), but peppered throughout the 1st 3 main sections are sympathetic phrases like "The crack thats caused so much suffering" or "The painful desperation of those addicted to the pipe.." "the crack explosion that has caused so much suffering among the people"

DONT
DO
THE
DRUGS YOU MORONS AND YOU DONT HAVE TO FEAR ABOUT A CRACKDOWN THAT WILL ULTIMATELY LEAD TO WHAT 'SOME SUSPECT' WAS THE GOV'TS INTENTION (laughable)-

"an epidemic of police brutality and murder, the mass incarceration of Black and Latino youth, and the criminalization of a generation"

GIVE ME A BREAK.

They shoulda been listenin to The Cos back then in the 80's- put down the pipe, grab a Puddin Pop.

Effin idiots.

I had a greatr reply to Glenn, but hit undo by mistake and lost it. I don't have the patience to type it all again. Anyway-

What's condescending to black people is the notion that they can't achieve success without the help from others.

Are you kidding? We didn't need help back the the eras' I mentioned, and despite segregation, overt racism, and violence- black people were "doing okay". We owned businesses, we had culture, we had opportunites.

Crack was a plague that even the hardiest of people struggle to overcome. Look around the world's ghettos and many of these peoples have their own monkey on their backs. You can either recognize it for what it is- or blame the blacks because they are "culturally bankrupt" or "morally lax". It's your choice.

Obiviously Hulk, you've said it better than I have. I tend to be a little more feisty in my word choice, but essentially that is my meaning as well.
