I don't think they'll just see if they can get something, and then make a decision. I think he's out, period. Something will be worked out that they're content with. They should have more than a couple suitors, as there are many teams with some horrible QB's out there

I think they've made their decision, but I also think they won't give him away.

I think they've seen this play out quite a bit and they don't want to be the idiots who traded a star QB to the playoff bound Ravens while they struggle behind Kolb (with their shitty pick buried on the bench).

The ultimate hilarity is if they trade McNabb for less than what they received in exchange for AJ.

The Birds will get a 2nd and a 4th for him (with the latter being a maybe). No one's going to give up a 1st for him, especially since it's going to get out how unhappy he is with the FO, which will further diminish his trade value.

This is going to get ugly.

Add to the fact that they won't just give him up to anyone, especially not someone who they'll be competing for the NFC championship with (if they were smart), so a trade to the AFC seems likely. Trading Baskett for a throwaway pick isn't like trading a QB that still might have a couple of years left.

They would probably trade him to Miami to piss him off and to provide Johnson his dream of "Supah 5" Barf Bags.

I can still see him going to Da Bears or Vikes for a combination along the lines of a 3rd round pick this year and a 2nd rounder in 2009 (with incentives for the 2nd rounder to become a 1st round pick dependent on his play).

I so see the Birds getting pantsed here...

after their failure to procure a first rounder next year for allowing Dallas back into the first round this year... I have little faith in these clowns.

This is gonna get ugly. No offer will satisfy the Birds, McNabb will get released, Birds get nothing.

I dont think the birds have to worry about competing against a team that takes McNabb NFC or AFC, he isn't taking anyone to the dance.

I guess what that deal comes down to is whether you wanted the 2nd and 3rd rounder last year or the 30th overall pick next year.

Considering the Eagles got future Hall of Famer and 7 time MVP Kevin Kolb as well as Stewart "The Morman Urlacher" Bradley in the swap, I'm sure Banner is still giggling so hard his Buster Brown's have become untied.

In fact, regarding the trade, I expect the Cowboys to lose to the Patriots in the Super Bowl and have the 31st overall pick. If that comes to fruition, the Birds got the 36th and 89th overall pick last year instead of the 31st overall pick in 2008.

Before his injury, he was quite diesel, having MVP-type #s. It's unrealistic to believe that he'd be back at that level this year. If he's traded to a team that's missing a QB and has a good run game, then he can be quite effective.

And FD owes me a new keyboard.

Any team with a half way decent run game, legit defense and a servicable TE automatically puts themselves in at least the playoffs by adding Mcnabb. I dont care what kind of uninformed hater you are but if Chicago or the Ravens have Supah 5 they are favored to make it far. It will be evidenced by the numbers Vegas put on them as well.

I think Baltimore is past their prime. Chicago? Ok. But Baltimore with it's old age and lousy coaching is finished. With or without McNabb, McNair, or any other Irishman QB for that matter.

I wouldn't be surprised if Miami, Atlanta, Ravens, Vikes, (off chance Chiefs), Chicago (for sure), low prob Carolina, and Jets all consider him.

I totally disagree with you guys, McNabb still had the ability to play ball and IF he had a coach lets say Childress a coach that actually ran the ball instead of putting it all on his QB's shoulders I believe #5 would have even better numbers...

I think a first is a no brainer, hell the Dolphins gave a #2 for AJ and he didn't have near the track record as #5... They get atLEAST a #1 and either a player or perhaps a few other low picks... My best case senario involves him going back to Chi-town for a 1st and the rights to Briggs, then the Birds sign him... (yes I've had my kool-aide today)

IF the birds let McNabb go for anything less than at least one first rounder they will become an even bigger laughing stock, the talking heads all still believe he can play, and IF he has a good to very good running game he would return to his probowl form...

Only thing, Tat, that makes it different from AJ:

1) AJ was at his peak, popularity-wise.
2) The Dolphins FO are a bunch of green-tailed ninnies.

McNabb is on the downside of his career, has a perception that he can't stay healthy, and his (soon-to-be) public squabbles with the FO (combined with the FO overrating him) will diminish his trade value.

Though I agree that in some way, they'll look like laughingstocks.

totally different scenario. feeley was young, healthy and seen as up and coming.

mcnabb will be 32 and coming off years of major and minor injuries.

he's garbage. just cut him. he can't pass. he was a pro bowler. emphasis on "was" he hasnt done shit in 3 years excpet get hurt and lose. his back ups have been much more succesful than he has. dont do anything stupid like start kolb either that shit aint gonna work. dig in them pockets and get a real QB. should have kept garcia. too late now ass holes. shoulda kept stallworth. again put somebody in the pocket who can finally bring home a championship the fans deserve it. we spend our sundays watchin this shit and people spend a lot of money on tickets and 20 dollars on a beer in and a hotdog which is outrageous. it's time for the ownership to fork out the money. stop being a capitalist ass hole. you owe us. you need to atleast go up to the cap. we in a division with owners that actually put money into the team. its a miracle weve been as good as we have only due to thier stupidy and mishandling of payroll.

I will state straight up that I have always liked the play of McNabb, the QB. (not too fond of McNabb, the personality as much) He is not as accurate as what one would hope for from a pocket passer, but he led the team to a point where they were expected to go to the superbowl 4 years in a row. Granted he choked a bit in his one shot at the SB so far, but so have a lot of QB's. (see Jaworski, Ron for example)

This is my opinion on the state of the Eagles QB situation, and in no way should (or could for that matter) influence anyone else:

1. McNabb is CURRENTLY the best QB on this team, even injured. That might change with some maturation of Kolb, but we probably won't know this year.

2. Feely has shown that he still doesn't have a grasp of the basics to reading/reacting to a defense. He is still incapable of playing beyond a rookie QB level, and now teams have film on him. His Eagles era should end immediately. (Unless he proves he can punt, kick, or return kicks)

3. I will grant somewhat of a pass to McNabb on the fact that he is injured. I used to be so much better at martial arts before my many injuries, and it does wreak havoc with anyone's ability.

3a. ...that said, McNabb has to realize that his skills will NEVER again be what they were, and be willing to accept the diminished role (along with a diminished salary?) that comes with no longer being able to play at his best level.

4. Until the coaching philosophy evolves, the Eagles will NEVER win the superbowl, no matter who is at QB.

Just my opinions, fire away.
