I heard this on one of the pregame's or during the game, can't really remember, but Lito being quoted as saying #5 is a 50-50 shot at being here and the starter next year, the same week Banner comes out and says with very little room to change it later he expects both donnie and the fat man to return next year...(Eskin and Via both were saying last night that Banner came as close as you can to saying that #5 will return, that only if someone gets crazy and sends 2-3 #1's to the Eagles (which I think we all know won't happen) that Donnie will be the QB next year.

OK I heard about Banner's comments but I'm a little surprised that I hadn't heard anything about Lito's comment until gameday. So what does this say about the team and the control Reid has over them anymore?!? in years past I don't recell a player coming out and answering a question like this in the past so is Lito not under Reid's control anymore speaking to the media??? Is it like we all assume that McNabb isn't the leader in the locker room...

I think some of the players are going to start yapping to the media. Especially if they were locked up recently to long-term deals. Pissing Cap'n Andy off enough to get released but not being such a pain in the ass that other teams shy away from signing them. It's how Welborn got out of Dodge. 5 hiring his press bitch right after they fired him greased his skids, too.

For some of them, it may be their only way off this turd as it circles the bowl.

Both Lito and Sheldon said stuff like "What do you want him to say? It's a business" where McFlabb was quoted in the article I read as saying something like "It's comforting to hear that. That was nice of him to say" and went on to say that his focus now was the Giants game and exactly how he was goin to muck it up by wasting precious seconds off the clock in the final moments.
