Well, he was given a bad team, bad QB situation, suffered a season ending injury to his best offensive player early on, and they traded their other offensive weapon in week 6.
He could very well be fired, but he never had a chance.

One call to Cowher to come coach in ATL fairly close to NC where his kids go to school
Two of Cowher's daughters go to Princeton, which is unfortunately close to New York. Keep winning, Coughlin, please!
Princeton is also close to Philly, but that's just my little pipeream.

A couple things:
1) McNabb in Tampa would equal another SB for Chucky, why?!? Because McNabb wouldn't have to worry about his arch-nemisis Ronde getting 2-3 INT's off him...
2) This will get everyone all hot and bothered with a TRUE dream... UCLA(I believe) is looking for a new HC, and who is one of the names high on their list?!? Norm Chow AND Bronco Mendenhall the HC from BYU... now lets all take a moment for a silent prayer that Bronco gets the job and then BYU calls good old Andy up to take over the position as HC for Mormon U...
I know it's a long shot but that's all I want for Christmas...

Also the top name right now being thrown around by the talking heads for the job in ATL is Mike "the EYES" Singletary. I'd like to see him get a shot and then kep Emmitt on as his head D coordinator

I'm an idiot. Here I am saying 5 should stay away from Florida, and then I propose he go to Tampa. Because Tampa's not in Florida, durrrr.
McNabb to KC seems like a good bet.

I'd throw the Jets into the mix (low on the list). It isn't as if Pennington is made of steel but something akin to glass held together by wet wipes.
I still think Baltimore would consider him. KC for sure, same with Chicago and ATL. McNeverWas HAS some options. We don't. We have Reid and that is it.

Talon,
Cowher said that he wants to see all his kids graduate from H.S. I know his older kids are in college up here but his other kids are in N.C if I am not mistaken. In any case if Blank throws enough money his way I think he has to contemplate it. Plus I think with the Giants making the playoffs it will buy Kernel Coughlin another 2 yr extension.

McNabb's ego would be held together by less than that against the NY media.

Here's an asinine piece on Page2 that says Reid should stay in Philly because his perseverance through tragedy would serve as a model for all the poor folks in Philly.
Um...yeah. What those poor black folks have been waiting for is a rich white Mormon from the suburbs to prevail through his tragedy.

I can see it now...a drug dealer gets ripped off and goes looking for revenge. He catches the guy and puts a gun to his head and says, "you're lucky Andy Reid is staying in Philly. Otherwise you would be one dead motherfucker, now go on and get out of here ya little whippersnapper!"

Pages back, someone talked about which WR the Eagles may pursue depends on the QB they keep.
Something to consider is that Stallworth signed (basically, now) a one year deal with the Patriots. To keep him, I think they have to give him $6 million, in addition to his salary. Considering how well the rest has played out and how little he has directly constributed, he might be back on the market.
When he was with the Eagles Stallworth had a gaudy average per catch.
I can't see the Eagles going after LBs, but if they're really interested in Suggs, that would be a great move. How many other teams are as motivated to find pass rushers, though? What has history taught Eagles fans about this group's willingness to pursue bidding wars?
Finally, with McNabb, trading him will have no cap hit, since his bonus was pro-rated and there's nothing left to pro-rate next off-season. He still very productive and will make and team a winner if he plays and would make a solid team a contender. His off-field drama is a constant distraction. I hate the expression "addition by subtraction," but that may be the case with him.
The teams going after him have been talked about. I'll add that, since Tuna went to the Fins, he'll make the call with Beck (duh). Parcells is actually a really good QB scout/developer. Doesn't hit constant homeruns, but rarely swings and misses. He'll watch the film and work with Beck. I find it doubtful he moves for McNabb. Regarding the Falcons, there's always the idea of future draft picks. Their #1 this year might be too steep, but if McNabb (they argue) makes the team a contender in a surpriingly weak division, the following year's first will be much later. Blank buys some great press, generates positive buzz for 2009, and gives the new coach a stable QB situation for five years.

Reid and company have gone to the playoffs 1 time in the last 3 years. They need to start picking up their game going forward and make the playoffs to keep the front office happy, but I think with the exception of a few players (Kearse, Howard), they'll be returning a lot of the starters they had this year.
I can see picking up safety help, a WR via free agency/draft, maybe a stud at Full Back or some more speed elsewhere. McNabb for all his critics will finally come back 'healthy' next year, and I doubt seriously they'll move him this offseason.
If with a few added players they can't get a better record to improve in games, larger changes will be needed. Westbrook has too few years of health left in him, and they will really need to consider if it is wise to 'build' with him on the team with his value as it is.
I know character issues have been a large concern, but Porter's contract is up this year, and unless he goes to San Diego (got along great with their coach) or stays in Oakland, I can see them making a push for him.
Defensively, they have 2 very good corners and an aging vet in the secondary, but the line and the linebackers are relatively young outside of Kearse/Howard/TKO, and I think the first two are done in that area. Cole deserves a shot at starting, and they may dump players at end and pick some younger guys in the draft to cover that. Linebacker has a lot of talent that just needs experience, and I think if they can step up, they can make a solid group there.
Offensively, outside of the RB/QB situations previously mentioned, they still need to upgrade WR and TE. They have a couple young talents at TE, but they need to think about moving on from Smith. He's good, but isn't great, and isn't looking like he's going to get better. The WR's show flashes, but they need a superstar to really excel. Porter would be my pick there, but we'll see. The line, when healthy, is one of the better ones in the league, but I can see getting more depth could help them there.
ST's seem ok, and I expect the kicker/punter situations to remain, unless they get a freak like in Cleveland/Chicago for returning. That would be one thing I'd look for in the draft though, as if you can get a 4.2 speedy guy with moves, you could groom him for 4 WR sets to catch the ball.
Forget about Kolb for at least another year. Donnie's going to start unless Reid goes and there's a major shake up, which I don't see happening unless the team doesn't pull off another playoff run next year. Remember that Curtis had his first season with the Eagles this year, and McNabb was 'not 100%' for most of the season, so going into next year, with another year under Brown's belt as well, and Celek showing signs of playing well, if they keep Smith most of the core outside of the line, pick up a compliment for Curtis (Porter), they could get a solid team.

2 interesting notes today on WRs.
Javon Walker said he wants out of Denver and word is Chad Johnson will almost certainly be dealt for a 2nd or 3rd round pick.
Walker is interesting, but his injuries are a little scary. We know the Birds like him, though.
Johnson is a great WR, but he's more of a head case.
Either way, the more options out there, the better.

I don't think the league released the comp picks yet. Late Feb?

I think F-d is the hardest working man in show biz.
I don't think I'd care for Cinco Jackass that much. Walker's injury make me hesitant.
Prefer Fitzgerald, but he'll cost the Birds alot. Younger than the others and a "character" guy. Throw in Cocksuckerfaceworth and the Birds would have a pretty formidable WR corps. Ok...putting the j away. Hope they get a quality TE. Necessary and utilized liberally in Reid's predictable offense.

The posistion of highest priority IMO is WR, the 3 mentioned Walker, Johnson, and Porter have 6,7,8 years experience respectivly. Which kind of surprised me I thought Walker was older and Chad was younger. I really don't think Fizt is even in consideration I can't see AZ letting him out of Zona, but even with the cost being high he would be worth a shot not knowing how he would play in this Offense... The Eagles will bring in a WR this offseason, unfortunatly by their trac record it won't be someone that will make a difference. I will go on record now saying I DON'T want Stallworst back he can't stay healthy isn't worth the hassel.
The other position of concern is TE, not sure what will play out the fact that LJ was hurt soooo much this year says two things to me he won't be able to comand the top teir salary he wants and two, for me, brings into question his offseason conditioning... He didn't get the extention he wanted and was getting ready for FA this year but never seemed to get/stay healthy all year. I wonder how much of it was him playing NOT to get seriously hurt and miss out on his PAYDAY cantract... just a thought
On the Defense I think they are solid across the board, (FYI neither Kearse or Howard were starters the last 5-6 weeks of the yearr) I wouldn't be surprised if they let Howard go but keep Kearse(after a contract redo) for that matter they may redo both contracts and keep them both for depth and rotation... IF they agree to that I'd have no problem keeping them they have 8-9 years exp respectively. The secondary is IMO good, Lito was hurt all year(becoming a pattern) but Brown was still at a top level and the back-up safeties Reed and Quinten IMO played dammed well and may be the starters next year with Dawk as a back-up and Considine as the fourth...
The LB's for the first time in I don't remember how long do not seem to have a problem solid to good across the board and should only improve as they grow more comfortable with their roles...
IF the Birds bring in a #1 WR this year before the draft then Reid will be drafting the best person available at their spot with no glaring needs...
I personally would like to see them bring in a WR in FA then add depth behind #36 another stud RB to add to the backfield, if he goes down the Birds have problems, if he doesn't then it will be an extra threat for McNabb...

They may get as high as a 4th, I read one place, but are likely in line for at least a 7th and a 6th.
They hold all their own picks, in addition to the comp. picks.

Who'd they lose worth anything Stalworst and Lewis but they brought in Curtis so the loss at WR doesn't factor I doubt they get anything at all for comp picks...
