We all know it means nothing to look at this now and see "who's good and who's an easy win'- but it's informative in at least those with season tickets get to see who's comin to town next yr.
Philadelphia Eagles
Home: Dallas, N.Y. Giants, Washington, Arizona, St. Louis, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Atlanta
Away: Dallas, N.Y. Giants, Washington, San Francisco, Seattle, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Chicago
Im actually glad the Browns and Steelers are both comin in. Both should be good games.

Great schedule for the Eagles. The fact that 2 auto-losses (Pats and Colts) aren't on there is a bonus.

Will be interesting to see where the Cleveland game falls if they trade Derek Anderson, as they should, his value will never be higher and from little I saw of him I wasn't impressed at all. If they can face Quinn early on in the season before he gets his feet totally wet that will make that game a lot easier.

Man, I think at this point I would keep Anderson over Quinn. He's only a year older, and has already shown he can play pretty well at this level.

What is it gonna cost to keep both though? I would think they trade him and load up on picks or players.

I probably would too. I just realized he's a restricted FA, so either they can match an offer or get a first and third rounder. That's a tough call to make when you drafted Quinn to be "the guy".

I don't think any team would give up those picks to sign him, though, so I think it's going to be up to Cleveland to make the decision.

Quinn only makes about $1 million per year, which is less than the Eagles play AJ.
It's definitely a tough spot, though. Anderson has played pretty well and appears to have a future...can you really trade him for the unknown?
If they believe in Anderson, you re-sign him and try to trade Quinn I think. Tough call either way.

Bear in mind that they've committed a significant amount of cash to Quinn, as well. It won't make much sense to have a ridiculously wealthy, unproven backup waiting in the wings when his "mentor" is only one year older than he is.
San Diego did this with Rivers and Brees before letting Brees walk and getting nothing to show for it. I would trade Anderson now. It's not as if Cleveland is a complete team, and while you don't know what you have in Quinn, I don't think Anderson will be a can't-miss perennial All-Pro.

And by "trade" I mean work out a deal for reasonable compensation other than a first and third rounder.
Didn't Quinn get a significant signing bonus?

He may not be a "can't miss", but he's proven he can get points on the board, while Quinn hasn't shown anything. I think it's a pretty big risk either way, but more so in retaining Quinn.
Like f-d pointed out, they didn't invest a crapload of dough in Quinn, either.

I guess if you look at it in terms of getting something (players or picks) in return, Anderson has some significant value for a trade, while Quinn has pretty much no value at all, aside from a lower pick than the one used on him.

Quinn's deal is 5 yards $9 million with $7 of the $9 million in "guarantees", which would be roster and workout bonuses.
Based on what I could find, he's scheduled to have a total cap figure of $1.7 and $1.4 million in the next 2 years.
My guess if the Browns will franchise Anderson and make him prove it for one more year. However, if they still truly believe in Quinn OR they truly believe in Quinn, the "castaway" will likely have trade value.

Anderson was able to make an 82.5 passer rating in his first full year as a starter, which is only 2 points behind what Favre did his first full year, and better than Peyton or Brees or any other established starters did their first year.
They'd have to be crazy to give up on a guy who was better than 1/2 the QBs in the league in his first full season, just so they can try out the untapped potential of Brady Bunch.
But then again, the scouting reports/pro combines never lie.

I'm going to read up on Anderson's bubble, smoothness of skin, and make sure he has a lot of sand in his pants.
If it all checks out, I'll agree his first season was successful.

That's actually a playoff schedule for the Eagles, as it stands. They finished in the top 10 in offense (6) and defense (10) and played well against better competition (as much as an 8-8 team plays well against top teams). They also had many close games. This isn't something you haven't seen or read before, i'm sure.
Still, the tougher teams, based on this year, are home games for the Eagles and the AFC conference even has limited travel.
If McNabb has a typical year and they can get some help at WR (or do a double runningback and start moving Westbrook all over the field), the Eagles can look to improve by two wins. The intra-division rivals will still be tough, but at least the Giants will still have Eli Manning (not near his brother's level) and the Redskins will still have a question mark at QB.

why would the redskins have a question mark at QB? Campbell is their QB, no doubt.

I would think the Browns will be keeping both QBs:
- make sure Anderson is the real deal and give him next year at QB
- too much invested in Quinn to get rid of him at this point
- having 2 QBs is almost a necessity nowadays. A quick count shows 17 teams last year that used 2 QBs (injury, suckiness)
- they're the Browns. When's the last time THEY did the right thing? I know, I kinow, pot, kettle, black.
Re next years schedule, I also like the home and aways. Good to get AZ and STL (2 good weather teams) hopefully playing in shitty weather. Baltimore on the road, with their new coach and QB, is OK. Two west coast trips is a little troublesome.
Too early for a record prediction. As always, I'll take 4-12, as long as they beat the Vagiants twice and Cowturds twice.

If McNabb has a typical year and they can get some help at WR ...
IF McNabb has a "typical year" he'll miss 3-5 games and the most important move in the off-season will be acquiring/grooming a viable back-up. (Yea', ... you can say his last three outings didn't raise my confidence level in him. Smoke and mirrors. Media induced love/hate relationship.)

Campbell's their QB of the future, no doubt, but he's been wildly inconsistant. You can chalk it up to WR injuries, but not all of it. There was some hype going into this season surrounding him and he under-performed.
