One other scheduling quirk I'd like to see stopped.
At a time of year when an extra day's rest and preparation for the playoffs is huge, for the last 3 years the Vagiants have played their Week 17 game on Saturday, giving them an extra days rest before the playoffs. I understand there is no guarantee when the schedule comes out that they'll make the playoffs, I know they have to alternate times and stuff with the Jets because they play in the same stadium, and I also know they've done squat the last 2 years in the playoffs. But something doesn't seem right. Kind of like Miami playing one game in Buffalo in December over a 20 year period.
Have I mentioned that I hate the fucking Vagiants, want them pounded on Sunday, but have an uneasy feeling that they won't be?

The Giants gave all they had to the Pats. I think they lose on Sunday.
And the scheduling quirks are always there - why does Miami always play NE late in the season in Foxboro? I think they played in Miami just once in the past 6-7 years that late, at least?

I have no clue what will happen, but teams are 4-11 after playing the Patriots this year with 3 of those 4 wins coming against the Jets and Dolphins.
The Cowboys beating the Vikes after losing to the Pats is the only somewhat quality win all year.
I don't know if the theory is the Pats wear you out, the hype for the game (trying to knockoff the undefeated team), or what...pretty strong trend, though.

I'm not sure what to make of the losses, either. Get rid of the drek that's the division, and you've got:
Cincinnati, who lost @KC but were established early as a bad team;
Indy, losing a close one to SD, but expected due to the magnitude of their game (and really, they should've been blown out;
Pittsburgh, who got beat by Jax and started falling apart at that point;
Birds, who lost when Feeley remembered that he was a backup; and
Baltimore, who was bad and showed it against Indy.
I'm not trying to say your stat has no merit, considering that I think the Giants have nothing left for Sunday. But aside from being on the hapless AFC, the other teams have either been bad or been in tough spots afterwards, giving another reason why teams have had losses after playing the Pats.
It'll be interesting to see how Jax (if they win) would play NE.

I agree. I looked up the Wins after I posted that stat and thought the same thing. The better team won in almost every game on both sides of that "trend" and the losses good teams took were mostly against other good teams.

If you hate the Vagiants, you should be pulling for them to win on Sunday because Coughlin is going to need to win at least one (maybe two) playoff game to keep his job. The longer Coughlin stays as the coach, the more doomed that franchise becomes.

CanadaRam,
Got it from a very good source in the Rams org. If McFadden is on the board, they're taking him.

I don't know what to think of that NC. Obviously, McFadden has shown some talent during his time in Arkansas, but he seemed to disappear in some games - based on what I've seen on the stats sheets. The Cotton Bowl was the first Arkansas game I watched for more than five minutes this year, and I wasn't impressed with McFadden. Granted, he was being keyed on and had little help, but the guy seemed to go down very easily. Not sure if that is normal for him, or not. I have a feeling that the rams will let Jackson walk after this year, his contract year, so looking for his replacement better start soon. All that said, I'd rather the rams draft Vernon Gholston, or Chris Long. They have zero pass rush from their front 4.

CanadaRam, no that is not typical of his running, let me put it to you this way, he ran 325 times this year for over 1800 yards in 13 games... now granted there were a few bad teams but the guy still ran for 1800 this year and if memory serves he was 2nd in the Hiesman last year as well because he had a huge year then as well...
He will be available, there is no way Miami goes for him, they have Ronnie Brown and Parcells has already agreed (why I do not know) to bring Ricky Williams back too... Miami's 1st pick (if they don't trade it away for a ton of picks) will be Len Dorsey DT from LSU. He IS a man among boys playing BIG TIME football... just watch the guy on Monday night, OSU will have 2-3 guys on him ALL night and he will still get pressure... He is the best DT I have ever seen play, he sprained his MCL(or ACL can't remember which) but came back in the game with a knee brace and they STILL had to double and triple team the guy to try and slow him down... Watch him he will bring back memories of Jerome and I am 100% serious about that,
