I've admitted I'm a McNabb homer all along. I don't think there has been a better QB for the Eagles in my lifetime. I understand some people don't like his personality...but that is to be expected from anyone. I also understand the injury issues, believe me I do.
I found myself looking at the QB's in the playoffs, and ranking them according to whom I would rather have than McNabb on this current Eagles squad. I believe I would take only Brady and Peyton Manning out of the lot.
Favre: 10 years ago maybe, but how many more times does everyone have to hear about his retirement
Homo: No thanks. Put him in an offense with the rushing attack of the Eagles, and watch him wither.
Eli Manning: Basket case that has now had 1 good game in the post season in 3 years. That puts him light years behind McNabb to me.
Jeff Garcia: Dude has heart, guts, and a pop gun arm. We've already seen what he can do in this offense, and he didn't get it done either.
Campbell (because I refuse to even acknowledge Collins as an option): Nope. Not even close to a decent regular season QB yet. Give him a couple more years at least.
Hasselbeck: I still rank him behind McNabb, although any QB that gets an unnecessary roughness penalty in a SB (even if it was a BS call) is OK in my book.
Rothlesberger: I'm still sort of on the fence about him, although I don't think he would do as well as McNabb without the consistent rushing attack.
Garrard: I couldn't imagine asking him to put up 40+ passes a game and have success.
Phillip Rivers has proven that he isn't shit without a running game. Imagine him in this offense.
Vince Young: Sucks. Period.
Yes, I'm drunk. Yes, my arguments are paper thin at best. This was just an observation that I made as I'm not entirely ready to write a healthy McNabb off. Of course, the healthy part is the main bugger in this whole scenario.
