If Dan Conner goes 12th overall, I'll eat my hat. I think he'll be lucky to slide into the bottom of round 1.

Agreed.

Hey, its the 1st one I have seen tho, that doesnt have Philly taking Desean Jackson, so I give em an "A" for originality.

As more places are getting their mocks together, I've been seeing a couple different options for the Eagles.

I just did a quick rundown and here are some of the picks people have the Eagles taking:

- DraftKing says Calais Campbell (huge DE from Miami).

- nfldraftcountdown.com says Deshean Jackson.

- NFL Draft Blitz says Gholsten (DE from OSU who will never slide that far).

- Walterfootball.com say Jeff Otah, the tackle out of Fred and Seth University.

- NFL Draft Dog says Limas Sweed (WR from TExas).

- Footballsfuture.com says Deshean Jackson

- Rivals has Dan Conner going to the Birds (kill me).

- mynfldraft.com had the Eagles taking OT Sam Baker from USC.

- profootballexperts.com says Talib (CB from Kansas), but since Malcom Jenkins isn't going Pro, he said that will no longer happen. He's saying Mike Jenkins, if he falls. otherwise, could be Leodis Mckelvin (who'd I'd just call McLovin) or a different direction, which could lead to porter in the second round (CB/return specialist from Indiana).

- scoutsnotebook.com is projecting McLovin.

It's all wild speculation right now, but at least it's something.

By the way, and I'm shocked this hasn't been brought up by the Eagles PR machine yet, did you guys know the Eagles had the most difficult schedule in the NFL for 2007?

How was that projected or quantified?

Victories amassed by their opponents (in total).

The Eagles opponents had a total of 144 wins this year.

Technically, the Eagles were in a tied with the Skins. The Skins opponents had 142 wins and the Sins went 10-6, so it's essentially the same there.

You gotta figure with the NFC East going to the playoffs (minus the Birds), they had 6 games against playoff teams right there. In total, 9 of the 16 games they played were against playoff teams this year.

Based on the finishes of the other teams, right? You gotta factor in being in a division that produced 3 playoff teams plus having played the perfect Pats have boosted their rivals' records.

Wonder what the top 5 are and if they're teams that are in the NFC East/AFC South?

In total, 9 of the 16 games they played were against playoff teams this year.

Especially when you factor in that 7 of those games had 10+ win opponents.

The most difficult 2007 schedules (based on the criteria above) were:

- Eagles
- Skins
- Detroit
- Chicago
- Miami

Miami is super skewed, though. They only won once, which gives their opponents an automatic 15 wins. Also, you have to consider they played the 16-0 Pats twice, further skewing it.

Plus they played GB. So I can see how they figured that out. But this team better not even try to trot out that as an excuse. Things like not having a punt returner were why they lost not their SOS.

But their SOS brings forth the one thing we'll keep hearing come April - Hope Springs Eternal

Trust me, Hulk...I hesitated to even post for fear it would be stolen by Spuds and spun into "Eagles season doomed by hardest schedule in history; unprecedented rash of injuries"

But let's not forget the most important thing - they had to go on a late win streak to finish .500, for all the complaining about how hard their schedule was. And they'll talk about how if AJ didn't throw INTs, they'd be in the playoffs; if the D held together against journeyman Brian Griese, etc.

Etc, etc, etc

Fuck...I knew they've been using injuries as an excuse, but I hadn't read the schedule difficulty excuse yet.

For the record there is NO SHOT at Eagles using a first rounder for a WR.

Especially after they get Chad Johnson

I'm almost certain you're right, but I could see them doing it (slight chance) if they think Deshean Jackson is a true game changer as a returner.

I don't think Jackson returned punts or kicks in college, which means he'd be Reid's preferred choice to start the season.

Humph. On ESPN it had no stats on his returns in his career so I was assuming he never did it.

He's a great punt returner. He was average this year (11 yards per return, 1 TD), but in 3 years he averaged almost 17 yards per return and scored 6 times.

Here's some Desean return footage for all his TDs before this year.

I think the main problems people have with him are his size and the fact that he did not have a good junior year. I think most people expected him to be a top 10 pick this year based on his sophomore season. That said, I don't know what went into his down year as a Junior.

Just the fact that he can cut back puts him light years ahead of anyone else here.
