Worst Possible Superbowl Outcome?

I live in an area with a mostly Giants fanbase and now I'm forced to do something I can barely stomach.

I'm going to root for the Giants in the Super Bowl.

I don't want to see the Patriots win, as they:

1) Set a mark as the Best Team Ever that we'll have to endure for decades in sports commentary.
2) Probably become the Team of the Decade by default.
3) Look smart for shuffling an entire WR core in the offseason and still coming out on top. (Well, maybe that isn't a bad precedent)

Yet at the same time, my grudge against Eli Manning from his draft stance will not die. If the Giants win, they:

1) Win, period.
2) Look smart for trading for Eli and sticking with him.
3) Get credit for beating the Can't Lose Patriots, an underdog victory for the ages.

Keeping the "No, the Eagles getting there and losing again" comments out of the equation, is there any combination of Super Bowl teams you would rather not see than these two? Granted, I'm talking pure spite, brushing aside that the Patriots have played at a level above the entire league all year.

Cowboys/Ravens would be worse for me.

The Ravens are annoying, Billick was the most arrogant looking coach in the league, and their fans are made of of 75% ex-Eagles, Steelers, and Skins fans.

Cowboys, for obvious reasons. T.O. Jerrah Jones. The media slobberfest. Jessica Simpson. it's just fun watching them lose.

Patriots/Packers

Brett Favre goes for it one more time as the media gives him more head than a midget convention.
And add all the other Pats stuff as well.

I would say the Colts, but I'm a big fan of Dungy's work - just don't care for Manning and how somehow Archie Manning became a much better QB because of his sons.

I can't say I hate the Ravens with the passion of several others.

Hate the Skins first and foreskin er foremost.

Next (trailing only a smidge) is Dallas.

The worst possible SB would be the Patriots vs the Patriots in a Conneticut/Vermont vs Mass SB.

Notable hates: Bucaneers, Rams, any team with Jim Fassel in any capacity and Kurt Warner.

Do you have a Tony Dungy Hat and/or Jersey?

I would say N.E. vs Dallas woulda been worse, as the Cowboys TEAM is more hateable than the Gmen, but I rivalry wise just seem to hate the Giants worse.

Of the three NFC east rival fanbases- the Skins are the worst, hands down.

The only team I hate worse than the Patriots in professional sports is the Cowboys. The Redskins and Giants are just slightly behind the Patriots. Throw in any of those 3 NFC East teams and the Patriots, and I'm not watching the damn thing, period.

Therefore, using those rules, the only worse superbowl would be Dallas/NE.

Dude, you can't cheer for a division rival no matter what. Esp a New Jersey team.

Giants versus either the Browns, Jaguars, Texans, Titans, Chargers, Bills, or Bengals.

The Giants because I hate them more than any other sports team.

The other teams because it gives a franchise who hasn't yet won a Super Bowl the chance to win one, thereby dwindling the pool of teams who have yet to win it, and making the Eagles franchise that much more of an embarrassment.

I liked how Fox put up a graphic at the end of the game - "NY Giants - First SB trip since 2000" like they've been waiting eons to go back.

What's wrong with you people? How can you root for the Giants or any NFC East rival in the Super Bowl for that matter?

NEVER.

I hope the Giants get dismantled in this game. Why all the hate for the Patriots? What could they've possibly done to prompt an Eagles fan to root for an NFC East rival? Is it because the Patriots are what the Eagles aspire to be? Is it because people think they cheat? Hell, the NFL is practically about who cheats the best. I don't even want to get the officiating conspiracy theorists started.

What's worse... heaping more praise on Brady or facing the fact that cock-eyed Eli Manning will become the latest QB to get it done before McNabb?

I can only pray that McKnobb has taken it upon himself to call Eli and offer up his insights on how one should prepare for the big game and what to expect from the Patriots defense.

Any AFC team vs. An NFC East Rival
sucks. the only joy I can get from this game is the Giants get crushed.

Don't get me wrong. I hate the Giants and all NFC east rivals.

But the Pats beating the Eagles in the superbowl, their run of success, spy gate, and their awful fans make them the first team in history to break the mold of hating an AFC east team more that an NFC divisional rival.

Purists be damned.

EFF THE PATS!

I deal with both fanbases at work. And each is eager to let me know of how the Eagles can't/won't ever get it done in our lifetimes. Also happens that those guys are some of the most obnoxious people I've met.

And we haven't even gone into all the Yankees/Sox comparisons yet.

Spy gate is the biggest crock of shit forcefed by the media this season.

A warning was issued to all teams before the season started. That probably means that more teams than the Patriots were doing this in previous years.

The Patriots said "fuck you" and got caught at half time of the first game. So they "cheated" for a half of a game that they won by over 30 points but somehow the rest of the season is tainted. Inconceivable.

No reason to hate the Patriots other than jealousy. Get over it. Put that team in Philly and you'd all be LOVING it. If the Eagles aren't in the next 10 Super Bowls I hope the Pats win them all. Gotta respect a team that good.

that's a great reason to hate, actually. that said, any eagles fan rooting for the giants and their extra-chromosome quarterback needs to die.

Jaws was asked about if this was an isolated incident, and he tried to change the subject, meaning he knew about other teams cheating aside from the Pats.

The rarer thing is trying to find an NFL team that DOESN'T cheat.

No shit genius.

Is their any other reason to hate another team?

It can’t be a division rivalry thing because I have never harbored much hatred to the powerhouse NFC east Cardinals.

Dumb ass

Got to take emotions out of the equation and look at it from a betting $$$ perspective.

With the Eagles no in the picture I don't really have a rooting interst either way.

I personally don't care who wins as long as I have the team who covers the spread.

And in this case it should be the Viagiants.

So the worst possibe outcome would be you bet on this SB and you lose $$$.

In my line of work, I've dealt with enough cranky, suspicious, obnoxious people from New England to despise the entire region. Cape Cod blows the most (purely because the intelligence is far lower), and then Boston and Western Mass are not far behind. I've never dealt with anyone, both client and customer, who begs for a cockpunch like those who live in New England, although listen up, Long Island, you're working your way up the shitlist.

I'm guessing all of you Patriots backers must not live or work near Boston sports fans. They are THE WORST. No one is in their league. Every championship they win, and there have been far too many this decade, drives them to a new unprecedented plateau of obnoxious behavior. These people make the Vet look classy. They are in a league of their own, and I hate them.

I do not want to see them have one more shred of joy. I do not want to listen to their gloating. I definitely do not want to see their team get any more lucky breaks or cheap calls as the officials conveniently overlook their players' dirty and classless style of play. At least Giants fans seem to share Eagles fans' hatred of their coach (and sometimes their QB), and they seem genuinely surprised that their team has made it this far. Compared to the ass-clowns from Boston, Giants fans are downright humble. If they make the Patriots lose, I'll be thrilled.

The only way I would pull for NE would be if they were facing Dallas. I'd even support the Redskins over NE. Only the state of Texas draws my hatred more than New England.

Plus, there's the added bonus of seeing a team that effectively runs the ball beating a pass-happy offense. Maybe Reid will learn something? Nah, why even bother?

I lived in both Boston and New York, each for about four years, and it's mind-boggling that a New York sports fan could be considered less obnoxious than one from any other city, although Boston is fairly despicable. Things could be different now. I was there when the Pats lost to Green Bay in the SB and nobody even cared.

One World Series and these douchebags have become completely intolerable.

Also, New York doesn't give a shit about the Giants. It's all Yankees all the time up here. The Giants could win this Superbowl in one of the greatest upsets ever, and the story will get trumped because Steinbrenner farted.

If I know "The Level", the combo we get to watch in 2 wks is just going to give YET ANOTHER reason for many to become utterly blotto, possibly passing out early on a couch in an effete pose.

Just sayin'.
