This is a long read, but a good one.
It's a 4 part series on the University of Washington football program under Rick Neuheisel (as far as I can tell).
Part one is all about Jerramy Stevens and what a train wreck of a human being he is thanks to about 25 "second chances".

He's never TRULY had to pay for anything he's ever done. I have to wonder who's been acting on his behalf behind the scenes, because it hasn't helped him.
Is just about every instance a pass on a strict sentence because people feel that he needs help? If so, why hasn't he gotten that help?
It boggles the mind.

What a scumbag indeed. It's stuff like this that contributes mightily to the ineffective court system here(among other things). If there ever was someone deserving of a true "bat" treatment, this a-hole should be high on the list.

I thought maybe the most interesting part of the story might have been the email he wrote to one of the girls. It highlighted his cruelty a bit, but also showed his mental deficiency.
If I was going to own somebody via email, I'd run a spell check so I didn't end up with a quick response of: U R Retart.

Thing is, is he getting off because people realize he's a few yard markers short of a down? Because this guy has shown that he is a serious danger to not only himself, but to pretty much everyone he comes in contact with. I mean, who's gonna be responsible if people knew they had a chance to stop him and try to correct the problem, but he keeps spiraling out of control?
He's gotten nothing except for a slap on the wrists (all things considered) compared to the havoc he's caused. When is enough going to be enough?

When no one has anything to gain by getting him off, he'll start paying.

i found that story repulsive last week. But it cant and shouldn't come to that much of a surprise. Look at our culture and the double standard applied to anyone famous, not just athletes. Lance Briggs Crashes his $250,000 car, runs away from the accident, files a false police report claiming the car was stolen, only to later recount, gets slapped with a fine. DUI's get thrown out on a whim. Domestic violence is treated with a quarter of the attention as animal abuse. When this society puts anyone up on a pedestal, it creates this sense of invincibility that is seldom proven wrong. Focusing on Athletes, Imagine if we had access to 50% of the NFL players college emails to former girlfriends? I think we would see very similar content to that of Stevens. Combine super human strength, the testosterone of a bull, fame, and millions of dollars, shake it up, and put it into a 18 year old kid. More times than not, you have just created a huge asshole who thinks the rules of society do not apply to them. Stevens is no exception.
I went to Lehigh. Hardly known as a NCAA football powerhouse, yet every Friday night, these fucking neanderthals would terrorize the hill. Imagine the inflation of this in big time football institutions with player destined to be superstars from the age of 10.
