Even Dustin Keller would have been a reasonable choice.
The Skins are stupid but they got two highly related WRs who have prototypical size. One is fast, the other isn't. The tallest CB for the Birds? 5'10". The tallest WR for the Skins 6'4". For the Giants 6'5". For the Cowboys 6'3".
FUCK!
They better keep Lito. He is now a necessity. Un-fucking-believable.

ok....since Lurie has billions under the cap, at least rework Lito's contract if he can't be moved for a quality player.

There were a few picks available at 19, sure, but a 1st next year and a 2 and 4 for this year was just too much. Sure, winning is imporant, but when has the team ever focused for the now instead of the future?
They picked up a pretty solid DT, and that's going to either push the guys in the middle or provide a ton of talent in there to keep the middle rested and ready. Laws was roomates in college with Abiamiri, so they'll probably be comfortable on the line together. Maybe that was part of the selling point.
I really like the Jackson selection a lot. He's a bit light, but he has speed right now. He's known for having great hands and running great routes. He can return the ball consistantly, getting him playing time while he gets the playbook. His downside is his weight, which ranges from 172 to 165 depending when he's weighed. That means he's going to get stuck on press coverage, but he's likely not going to be lining up anywhere but the slot anytime soon.
Tomorrow, Reid's trying to avoid the problem he's had with many bad picks in later rounds by just tossing draft picks at possitions. I think they're ok at RB, so unless there's someone special they'll avoid that position. They'll probably pick up some depth at OLine, probably a Safety, DE as well. I don't think they're in a bad spot really, but that's because while they didn't do bad with the drafting part, they failed horribly in one area.
Lito Sheppard is still on the team. Sure, it's nice to have 3 guys at CB that are pro bowl caliber. Depth at Corner allows them to do a lot of things. However, not making a move for a veteran WR, and they're making a mistake. They can draft a guy in 3 or 4 to add depth at Corner.
The good news about that is that they have a bit of ammunition now. They have a few more picks this year, along with 2 1st rounders next year with Lito. Perhaps moving Lito along with some of those picks for an elite WR may work. Just an example is Torry Holt, a great WR who is upset with the progress of the Rams.

I will go on record saying I LOVE what they did today- IF they make these acquired picks move for them in a successful acquisition of Roy Williams or Boldin. If they are going to get either one of these guys, they're going to have to outbid the Cowboys or Redskins, and they put themselves in position to do that. Plus they picked up Laws, who impressed me when I saw him play- freakin non-stop motor, the kid's pretty good. Plus they got a smurf with moves to return kicks and compete in the WR department-
Their D-line should be even better, HOPEFULLY they will parlay these picks w/Lito to address the WR positon- and at some point they will have to address the safety position if they do this. I think this is what they will do. And I'm ok with that. I just hope they don't fuck it up and get Ocho, if they get Williams or Boldin, this will be an EXCELLENT job of wheeling and dealing, IMO.

I disagree, F_B.
Their needs were, IMO, were WR-S-OL in that order. So they dealt their way down to pick a DT (that has trouble getting off the block) & a smaller version of Pinkston.
And you just know that next year's two #1s (at 15 & 18) are going to be for RT and LT guys who will sit for a year.
This franchise needs a REAL GM.

I'm still in a state or shock here. I like all their picks/moves thus far, but I just don't get the motivation when it comes to their own roster.
If I had a list of "must have" moves before yesterday, it would have been:
- Deal Lito
- Grab a CB
- Acquire someone with explosive return ability
- Safety
- OL for the future
- Trade for a veteran WR
They ended up accomplishing few of the goals and the audacity/arrogance of going DT AGAIN?
They are full-out addicted to the position. They need to have a great second day to pull out of their shit spiral.

Oh, and seriously...thank you Danny Snyder. You are such a fucking idiot that the Eagles, despite being miserable failure, can still assure themselves of at least 3rd place in the division.
2 WRs and a TE, huh? Are they fucking retarded?

fågelpojke, it's still early babe. They have 9 picks to throw around- and just the fact that they have them is worth something at the bargining table.

Not normally, but when I wake up at 6AM Sunday morning on the heals of a pretty serious 2 day bender, my BAC hasn't really had a chance to correct itself. The plus, obviously, is I get to wake up without a hangover.
The downside is I still know that hangover is coming at some point today unless I get drunk again and stave it off for another day.
Tough choice.

There's a 100% chance of you drinking today when it is announced that "The Eagles have traded down"

Back to the draft...they need to trade up and have at least 2 picks in the 3rd round.
Reggie Smith (s/CB) from Oklahoma would be nice. Dujuan Morgan would be nice. Charles Godfrey would fit what they are looking for. I'm sure there are a few others.
Carl Nicks would be a great pickup here, as well.
They need a lineman with LT potential and secondary help today.

That's the great thing about having so many picks, f-d.
I can't believe I'm siding with the FO-
of course my optimism could be blown out of the water, in which case I will tip my Booker's to you

this draft is going awesome. i think the plan is to have as many undersized d-linemen as possible. maybe we'll be able to start 11 of them by the end of the day
