Fabion Washington is now being tangled as well as the possibility of Oakland's franchised DB "Nagasaki". Muddied water for lito.
mlewis, if you can step away from the trading floor for a moment to translate the above into English, I'd appreciate it.

Fabian Washington-DB- Raiders Mar. 18 - 11:24 am et
The San Francisco Chronicle confirms that the Raiders are actively shopping CB Fabian Washington.
If Washington hadn't lost his confidence and job to Stanford Routt in 2007 and been accused of domestic battery in February, his value would be a lot higher. As is, Oakland shouldn't be asking for more than a third-round pick.
---------
on top of that, their franchised player, the guy who has the crazy ass name, has not signed his Franchise offer. With the money being paid to Deangelo Hall, people are speculating that he also could be available, for the right price. In the world of supply and demand, the supply for starting DB has increased, which decreases the market value for Lito.

Chad Johnson's offseason of discontent could be headed for its first showdown with the Bengals.
The Bengals wide receiver, in a series of Los Angeles-based television appearances, said he would not participate in the team's offseason strength and conditioning program beginning Monday.
"I will not be there," he said during a late afternoon stop at Current TV and Current.com. "There are a lot of issues that need to be dealt with. Nothing has changed."
Asked several times by "First Take" host Jay Crawford where he might be playing next season, Johnson said: "You know what? I want to continue my career wherever I have an opportunity at winning a playoff game and getting to a Super Bowl. ..."
Then asked if the Bengals were that team, Johnson said: "I'm not sure. I have no idea. ... I haven't made a decision on anything of that nature."
So, does he have an idea where he would like to play in 2008?
"I don't know," he said. "I am undecided."

That's a ton of monies. Eagles win again because I think Samuel is the better player, will be paid roughly the same per year, and they didn't have to give up a 2nd round pick.
The Raiders are fucking dumb. I understand they are trying to get better (and they should be better than they were after some of these moves), but they are really spending money/picks foolishly.

I just had to add this:
Mitchell Hoping to Make Comeback in NFL
ComcastSportsNet.com
It appears Freddie Mitchell has not changed his tune.
The former Eagle wide receiver still feels his playing days in Philadelphia were cut short due to personal relationships and not his playing ability.
"Me and T.O. were the best of friends, and that hurt my relationship with Donovan [McNabb],” Mitchell told the Los Angeles Times Thursday at UCLA’s Pro Day. "There were issues between me and Donovan.”
Mitchell, 29, is still confident he can make a comeback in the NFL and spent much of Thursday talking with scouts.
He believes the right scenario could pay huge dividends for him, as well as the team.
"Success is situational,” Mitchell said. "The right coach can take an average receiver and put him in the Pro Bowl.”
Mitchell was a first-round pick of the Eagles in 2001. He recorded 90 career receptions for 1263 yards and just five touchdowns in four seasons with the Eagles before being released. Mitchell signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2005, but was released before the season started.
Since being waived by Kansas City, Mitchell worked out for Cowboys in August of 2006 before a try out with the team again in October of 2006. In 2007 Mitchell worked out for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League, but has not appeared in a pro football game since leaving the Eagles.

Not sure how true this is, but it's probably pretty rare that a receiver who isn't picked up for a couple years, and can't get a job in the CFL, becomes a Pro Bowl receiver.

Too bad the sentence doesn't say in "one season with the Eagles" instead of four seasons.

Sure, Freddie, but that doesn't explain why you couldn't make the roster for Kansas City, Dallas, or the Toronto Friggin Argonauts, not to mention your inability to cut it as a substitute teacher.

I didn't think he did, but Jaws was trying to convince him to come in for a tryout at one point.
BTW, Sulton of Slot was by far my favorite Fredex nickname.
He has to be the worst player in NFL history with more than one nickname.

OK, so I thought he tried out for the Soul, but (to my surprise) it was one-sided, with the Soul pursuing him.
Could he make the team now? Doubtful.

CHAD WON’T SHOW FOR WORKOUTS
Posted by Michael David Smith on March 19, 2008, 12:02 p.m.
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson is continuing to make the media rounds, and he’s continuing to sound like a man who isn’t happy with his current contract on his current team.
Despite the opportunity to earn $250,000 in workout bonuses, Johnson said, “I will not be there for this off-season conditioning program,” in a short video posted at Current.com.
Johnson also appeared on NFL Network’s Total Access Tuesday night (watch here), and he gave bizarre, at times contradictory answers to questions about whether he’s happy with his contract with the Bengals.
“I don’t want no money,” Johnson said at first, but then he quickly switched gears and said, “Wait a minute, stop 85. It’s always about the money. This is a business. You play this game for a reason, because it’s about the money. We fill those stands for those owners because it’s about the money. Coaches want to win because you get new deals because it’s about the money. Players want to play at a very high level because you get money. … Chad continues to play at a very high level, so he can get that money. But right now in this situation, I don’t want any money from where I am. That’s not what I asked for.”
Asked what he thinks about continuing to play in Cincinnati, Johnson said, “We shouldn’t say anything about Cincinnati, period.” He then added that the ideal scenario for him would be “change. … Change of scenery. I need a fresh start.”
A Bengals spokesman responded to Johnson’s vow not to attend workouts by saying, “the sessions are voluntary.”

Can't have a Bar-B-Q without Kingsford James.
And this is really laughable - the Bills had one of the worst Ds in the NFL, and they go to him for help? From Nate Clemens to Kingsford James. Unbelievable.

The Raiders trying to get better under Davis is like "The Fatherland" trying to get better under Hitler. Only without all of the winning at the beginning.

Have we determined that $8 million is the exact cap hit the Bengals will take if they trade Ocho? Does that injclude the salary they WONT have to pay him for '08?
The Bengals would be absolute fools not to trade him before he can shread the team apart. Especially with TJ asking for a new contract as well.
The question is whether the Eagles would trade for him. They could probably get him for a 3rd rounder and the fact that Andy agreed to have a sit down with him and TKO seem to go in the Eagles favor. If they are serious about going all in, and they allow Ocho to go to Dallas, someone should get fired. IT should say something to them that teams with TWO #1 WR are unwilling to part with one of their stars and teams with only 1 Stud WR are trying to acquire another freak.

This whole must-have-two-stud-WRs philosophy is only relevant if you run a pass-happy offense.
