While the Eagles offense and team definitely works better with a stud (as we all saw), I think it says something that a team with 2 WRs of their caliber hasn't won a single playoff game even with a good running back situation and an All-Pro QB.

True, but their Defense has always been deplorable.

Indy however pulled it off.

Pacman Jones-DB-Titans Mar. 20 - 5:19 pm et

The Cowboys and Titans are reportedly in trade talks involving suspended CB Pacman Jones.
No deal is imminent, but Dallas is probably one of only a few teams that can risk giving up a pick for a player that might not see the field in 2008. The sides are discussing a late-rounder as compensation. If they acquire him, the Cowboys might want to redo Jones' contract to make it incentive based.

Spuds is really aiming high:

The season has started in my head, and I can feel the chills of the opening kickoff. I see a 32-yard kickoff return to start the Eagles season, and I see Donovan McNabb and Co. opening at their 35-yard line.

BREAKING NEWS!

Rocky Boiman is in for a visit.

He's entering his 7th season as an NFL linebacker, but he's essentially a special teams ace and spot player on defense. He played 4 years for the Titans and played the last 2 with the Colts.

Pacman will be reinstated before the Draft. Dallas, NE and NO are believed to be interested. He can be has for a 5th rounder.

Anyone with a stable roster should be on Pacman Jones like white on rice. If Philly nabbed his ass I'd be in cornerback heaven.

I don't think there is anyone on the Eagles roster capable of controlling him.

There just isn't anyone with the clout/current production on defense (or offense) to keep him in check.

He'd be fine in NE...great pickup for them.

PATS NOT INTERESTED IN PACMAN
Posted by Mike Florio on March 24, 2008, 10:30 p.m.
Albert Breer of the Dallas Morning News, who previously covered the New England Patriots before heading to Texas, has plowed his Pats contacts, and reports that the team is not interested in cornerback Pacman Jones.

In our assessment, Jones has been attempting through his lawyer/agent, Manny Arora, to create a market for Pacman’s services, and Arora has said that Jones wants to play for the Patriots.

But the Patriots aren’t interested. As we hear it, the Bucs and the Redskins aren’t, either. And the Lions have declared that they don’t want him.

The only team that genuinely desires Jones’ services is the Cowboys, and we think that Arora and/or the Titans want to make the Cowboys think that other teams are in the hunt, in the hopes of getting the Cowboys to pony up a higher draft pick to get him — and a bigger contract, too.

Don’t forget that it was the Cowboys who paid receiver Terrell Owens more than $8 million per year in March 2006, at a time when maybe the Broncos were willing to offer up the veteran minimum plus incentives.

Saints are tryin to work something out for Shockey.

Mixed reports of a 2nd rounder and Safety Roman Harper either being offered by the Saints or requested by NYG and rejected by NO.

We shall see. I think there's a decent shot that they'll move Shockey.

I'd be happy if they dealt Shockey.

I know they played better without him, but I think that Giants team is one of the most fraudulent SB winnings in history and the more talent they shed, the better.

That team was not good and had no business winning the Super Bowl.

They did and you can't take anything away from them (nor am I trying to), but I still don't think they are a good team and I think the Pats would beat them 85 times out of every 100 contests.

Essentially, I don't think they are "the team to beat" by any stretch this year and they won't be favored to even win their own division this season.

Yup.

Further, instead of being completely embarrassed by another NFC East team winning before the Eagles have their first, the FO views their victory in a positive light because "it proves you have to build in the draft, from the lines out".

I don't know FD.

The Giants were certainly not unstoppable last year, but they always have a decent amount of talent, and by the time the playoffs got started, they were pretty damn good.

What it really comes down to is, they had just an average offense, but developed a completely MONSTER defense -- especially at the line. That's been known to win divisions (and SBs) before.

I think if they are smart this year the Eagles can beat them, but I can't call them SB frauds. They played their asses off, smacked the Pats in the mouth and willed themselves to a win. It's the kind of playing above your talent with will and determination for 60 minutes that I'd like to see from the Eages.
