They got absolutely NOTHING out of mcmullin.
We got many "McMullen is going to tear it up this year" posts from MiG, I believe. Someone was throwing out the "book it"'s on him. That's got to be worth a 3rd round pick right there, given that most of the Eagles' 1st round picks are out of football or on their way out.

DGB was MR. Billy Ball.
Hand like oven mitts, speed, size...reminded him of T.O.

I think everyone was fairly hopeful but neutral on Billy Ball, with the exception of DGB.
He couldn't help it though...Cav fever.

We all had our 1st day draft pick WR that we KNEW had more talent than they were playing with.
I thought Freddie Mitchell was going to tear it up. I was sure he was just a few passes away from having a 10 TD season.

It's really hard for me to believe Kris Wilson is going to be only a tight end, and that they are letting Shobel go.
The team has had a lot of trouble getting into the end zone, the fullback used to be a big part of that, and L.J. Smith has clearly been a big part of it. It seems like there is going to have to be some creative use of the position. Or that they will use mutliptle tight ends in place of receivers in end zone situations. At one point, Spuds was saying he saw a 3? tight-end configuration. I didn't know that any team ever used that many tight ends at once.

REPORT: PACMAN TO COWBOYS “IMMINENT”
Posted by Michael David Smith on March 27, 2008, 8:18 p.m.
Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that a trade that would send suspended Tennessee Titans cornerback Pacman Jones to the Dallas Cowboys is imminent.
According to Schefter, the Cowboys and Titans spent Thursday discussing the trade and should be able to work out a deal soon. Although Schefter reports that the teams are still a few rounds apart in discussing compensation — the Titans have asked for a third-round pick and the Cowboys have offered a sixth-round pick — the deal could get done within the next couple of days.
In fact, Jones could be in Dallas this weekend to announce a deal at team headquarters before Cowboys officials leave for the league meetings in Florida.
There’s still the matter of Jones needing to be reinstated. Although suspended players can be traded, merely acquiring the rights to Jones doesn’t do the Cowboys any good unless NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell allws him to play. It is unclear when or whether that will happen.
But it’s increasingly looking like if Jones plays in the NFL again, it will be with a star on his helmet.

I think that was LJ.
Billy Ball had a chance against Dallas--wide open, sure touchdown and he dropped the ball, eagles lost.

"At one point, Spuds was saying he saw a 3? tight-end configuration. I didn't know that any team ever used that many tight ends at once"
Usually in goal line formations and typically with the intent to pound the ball in.
As for Pacman Jones... I don't get the Cowboys interest and the Titans sudden disinterest. Are the Cowboys trying to become the "Raiders" of the new era... targeting other team's problems or cast-offs?
What the hell happened to the Titans that they're giving up so easily on a guy they drafted so high only a couple years ago?
Or is it Pacman himself who wants this trade and forcing the Titans to work it out?
The whole situation just seems odd to me, perhaps I'm not getting all the details.

There's probably an undercurrent of discontent among the Titans FO, not to mention issues Jones might have with Fisher. In that case, the Titans would be sure to get rid of him.
They'll eventually decide on a 2nd day pick, but Dallas is looking at this as a low-risk, high-reward type deal covering two needs at once (and if anyone can deal with immature boys masquerading as football players, it's Jones and his crew), and if it doesn't pan out, then Pacman's back on the streets.
This is all pending his reinstatement, btw, something that's not even guaranteed. Especially when the nimrod is guaranteeing to "make it rain" with such celebrities as "young spoaty".

Whatever.

Dumb question.
Did LJ sign the Franchise tender yet? If not, TE may be back on the 1st day menu again.

Johnson, I think it's a situation where he's worn out his welcome.
The Cowboys get a reclamation project cheap, the Titans get to unload a guy who hasn't really been a part of the team in over a year, he's probably burned bridges in the locker room/front office, as well.
Basically, it's the classic "cutting your losses" move for the Titans and the classic "roll of the dice" for the Boys.

BTW, he makes that team a LOT better if he's ready to play after so much time off.
He's an upgrade at CB, he's a very, very dangerous corner, and Anthony Henry moving to safety upgrades that spot.
It's really a 3 or 4 position upgrade for the Boys in one move.

Even if gets back in shape towards the middle of the season, he's a very good player to have during the stretch run.
One more thing to consider, Johnson - the Boys are taking in other players that were problems, but they're doing it in a way that if it doesn't work out, they can let them go with little harm done to the cap. TO's "3-one-year" deal (and the fact that he hasn't tried to torpedo his QB (yet) makes that signing a smart one, and if Pacman behaves, he may end up better than the one-year deal he'll have for this trade.

Pacman's value is so low right now, there's no way anyone could really jack it up.
And besides, would anyone really believe the Eagles would have interest? Even if Pacman plays one year for a big contract, it gives the Boys a serious upgrade on two fronts.
If anyone could've pushed up the Titans' asking price, it'd be the Raiders, and even then, they're not going to let him go to a conference rival.
