Jets DT Robertson visited Eagles for medical tests

It is true that New York Jets defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson visited the Eagles for a series of medical examinations, but, according to a league source, the visit took place nearly a month ago and it is "a long shot" that he will be dealt to Philadelphia.

Robertson, the fourth overall pick in the 2003 draft, is on the trading block and, like Eagles cornerback Lito Sheppard, is likely to be dealt before or during Saturday's NFL draft. Robertson, 6-foot-1 and 317 pounds, has been a five-year starter for the Jets, but he has not lived up to the expectations of a fourth overall draft pick. He has 141/2 career sacks. The rumor circulating in The C-ty is a deal could be reached "as soon as today" and the deal is most likely Robertson for Sheppard and a swap of a second round picks in the draft.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH bullshit. Jets fans who came up with this "sweet deal" must make the Philly KPL look like nanotechnologists.

Robertson for Sheppard and moving up 13 spots in the second round isn't a terrible deal, but Pro Bowl CBs - even ones with injury issues - have higher value than a DT, especially one not living up to hype.

I'm not knocking Robertson, but I'd hope the Eagles get more than moving up 13 spots.

If the new draft chart was pushed by the Eagles,, this is how it works out. The difference in points is 130 (540 for Jets pick and 410 for Eagles). 130 points is the value of a late third round pick. Last year, the Eagles drafted Tony Hunt late in the third.

Sheppard for Robertson and Tony Hunt.

Again, not terrible, but CBs are harder to find and develop.

I think that's a bad deal for a number of reasons.

One, Sheppard is worth more than a late 3rd round pick.

Two, I'm not sure there is anything that much better 13 spots higher in the second round. Maybe, depending how the draft falls, but I'm not sure.

Three, we're talking about a guy who has been dinged up and wants a deal, but 27 year old a 2 time pro bowl CB (one time All Pro) for a DT who has basically been a failure in NY (not terrible, but not special...certainly not great value for his spot in the draft).

Plus, he will cost the Jets $12 million on the cap this year if they keep him and he'll also likely want a deal if traded. They want to dump him as badly as the Eagles ant to move Sheppard, so it's not like they are negotiating from a position of strength.

I think Robertson would be an excellent 3rd tackle, but I would expect he'd beat out either Bunk or Patterson.

Robertson is just another guy IMO.

A deal including Lito and this clown would be a disgrace, unless the eagles also got the Jets 2nd round pick in addition.

Robertson has a huge contract, has never lived up to his hype and would be a backup DT at best.

Again, I know they want to move Sheppard, but I trust that they will be patient with this. They can trade him for picks this year or for future picks, so a draft-day move is not a lock.

That would blow, and sounds a TON like a "Joey from da Bronx" call into WFAN up there, with his "Suggestted Trade for Da Jets!"

Not a fan. Sounds like the ROI is too little. Shepherd is a quality CB who plays bigger than his smurfesque size and can be a playmaker. INT's are down when you have to cover your man for an eternity. The Birds had a shitty pass rush for 05-6 and 06-7 that was rejuvenated last year.

I'd rather have a killer secondary. Coverage sacks abound!

I agree Jules--Sheppard with Samuel would be very nice. It seems highly unlikely however. I read an article this weekend, hinting that the Eagles have already told Lito that he will be traded, which is why he is not working out with the team and has made no public comments about the signing of Samuel.

I also heard about 97 times this weekend, that the Eagles are going to get Chad Johnson, so all of this could be total b.s.

Gcobb says Roy williams will be traded before draft day to the Eagles, Cowboys or Redskins.

Plain and simple, Mike quick said "I would like the Eagles to get Roy Williams". He never implied that he heard they are in negotiation or knew anything to substantiate the rumor. Gcobb asked him what he thought about Roy Williams and Mike Quick said that he liked the guy. Later in the interview, when referring the Cowboys, he said "he believed that there will be a move made this week". Thats it. He never once mentioned that the eagles were making any type of move, or in the process of making a move for roy williams. The only way Roy Williams fits into this story is that Gcobb asked Mike Quick if he LIKED him in his video podcast. Gcobb flat out made this shit up. He has been doing it a lot this offseason to build up traffic to his website.

Listen to the video podcast, than try to piece together how the F' he cam up with Mike Quick saying the Eagles are in negotiations with the lions. TOTAL BUNK.

The tough thing about finding a good website is that it is hard to keep it a secret. As it grows, so does the amount of time needed to keep it interesting and sponsorship to justify the work. I have no problem with them supporting themselves as long as they keep with the solid content.

As for taco bill, the guy is a no dope, seeing that he is a high ranking detective in south jersey. He does the photoshop inberween solving murders and robberies.
