G has been spouting some B.S. the entire offseason. The RW comments seem totally unsubstantiated and is likely a way to get increase traffic on his website.

--Seriously--someone brought up this point: When has Mike Quick ever been considered an "insider" to the Eagles organization? Maybe Andy called Quick for advice on who they should bring in, better yet, maybe they hired Quick as a consultant to help them put together their draft board--maybe, just maybe Quick has been the one orchestrating a deal with the Lions for RW.

This time of year is brutal when it comes to rumors.

OT in round 1.

I'll post the Inky's RB ratings--interesting stuff. This year is so deep at RB--I hope they grab one in the mid-rounds as an insurance policy.
Yo, click it

One more thing:

Almost every site has McFadden as the #1 RB, but there is a growing list of NFL "experts" who think he'll be a total flop:

"I think he's the colossal bust in this draft. He doesn't run with patience. He's a very incomplete back who tries to run you over. If he gets a crease, he can take it to the house. But he doesn't break tackles and he fumbles. I'm not impressed." - Fox Sports NFL analyst Brian Baldinger on Arkansas running back Darren McFadden.

Yeah, I heard Mayock say that McFadden has very weak lower body strength and as soon as he's touched he goes down.

From PFT:

QUICK BACKS OFF “MAJOR MOVE” PREDICTION
Posted by Mike Florio on April 22, 2008, 9:21 a.m.
The hot streak of GCobb.com when it comes to Eagles football is officially over.

A day after the site, run by former Eagles player Gary Cobb, said that Eagles radio analyst Mike Quick predicted that the team will make a major move at receiver this week, which GCobb.com interpreted to be an effort to acquire receiver Roy Williams from the Lions, Quick backpeddled faster than Deion Sanders on a running play.

Quick tells the Philadelphia Daily News that he has no inside information in this regard, and that he merely has a feeling that the team will do something to answer quarterback Donovan McNabb’s call for playmakers.

The problem is that Cobb’s site blew Quick’s prediction out of proportion, even adding in the Cowboys and Redskins as teams engaged in a bidding war for Williams.

It’s simply not the case.

With all that said, we’ve got a feeling that the Eagles will make a play for

Anyone watching McFadden sees that he goes down on contact. I dont know if im ready to say complete bust, but he's not the best RB in this draft.

Saw that PFT thing this am and was crackin up.

Mike, a team employee, was prolly called up and out on the carpet by someone with his employer for speculating that way and told to quell all that noise that Cobb stirred up by incorrectly/presumeably unauthorized interpretting from Mike's comments.

outstanding.

Per Bob Grotz of DelcoTimes.com:

The Birds were interested in perhaps aquiring KC's stud DE and offered ONLY LITO AND PICKS- NONE OF WHICH WERE THEIR NUMBER ONE PICK!

WHAT!?

They couldnt have been THAT interested if that was their offer.

Taco Bill's crew is reporting that the Bengals turned down an offer to the Redskins that would've sent Washington's 1st in 08 and another draft pick in 09 (which could've been a 1st, based on CJ's performance) to Cincy.

They also allege tampering on Rosenhaus' part.

A first plus a potential first the following year? Hard to pass up. Guess they're serious about this.

Why would PFT even mention tampering there? All of these trades are normally contingent upon a deal being reached between he player and new team, so it wouldn't be shocking at all if they made an offer to the Bungles with that contingency, should it be accepted.

Reading isn't a prerequisite to posting, FB. It's in the manual.

FD, they "allege" it, but they're also quick to point out that this stuff happens in the NFL all the time. I think it's them trying to make a story out of seemingly nothing, especially since the real story is the Bengals willing to cut off their own noses to make a point.

B/c that could be the Bengals trying to make it even harder. It's tampering when both teams aren't ok with it, so this could be the Bengals (stupidly) trying to flex their muscles even more, and giving Rosenhaus an even harder time.

At the end of the day, if the market for a Stud WR whose current team is not anxious to part is an '08 1 and '09 1 or 2, we can forget the possibility of the Eagles attaining Williams, Johnson or Boldin.

The only upgrade in WR will be in round 2 or 3.

Seriously...can anyone here see the Eagles giving up a super precious in '08 for a WR?

Can anyone imagine DET, Cinncy or AZ parting with their WR for any deal not including an '08 first round super precious?

Perhaps.

I guess i believe that Millen will stick with his mistake(s) and stubbornly hold Roy W.
Fine.

I would have thought that a 2nd and Lito, back about a month ago, woulda surely gotten it done.

Now Im not sure it woulda.

Boldin, I honestly think, wouldnt cost your #1 pick this yr or any other.

Lito and a 2nd and that would certainly get it done.
Right?
