Eskin said that TKO had arrainged a sitdown between Chad and Andy. It never happened because TKO realised he wasnt going to be here in '08. But that Andy had AGREED to sitting down with him.

Wanting the most available and talented WR left isn't exactly a bold statement.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Bengals still "have no intentions" of dealing Chad Johnson and "aren't budging."

The cap hit Cincinnati would take to trade Johnson ($8 million) simply makes a deal unlikely. The team is probably more concerned with getting T.J. Houshmandzadeh extended, then possibly adding to Chad's deal this summer.

No one can really know what Lito's cap hit would be unless they have access to Banner's office. It depends how the bonus was prorated. Where did that number come from?

It would be a $4 million hit if they prorated evenly over the length of the extension and could less (or $0) depending on whether they accelerated portions of his bonus during seasons in which they had extra cap room.

11/6/2004: Signed a five-year, $25 million contract extension through 2011. The deal included an $8.7 million signing bonus. 2008: $2 million (+ $1.45 million in bonuses), 2009: $3 million, 2010: $3.7 million, 2011: $4.25 million, 2012: Free Agent. Cap charge: $3.45 million (2008).

So looks like $3.45.

What's the total bonus left on the deal, though? That's what gets accelerated.

It almost looks like the $1.45 this year is a roster bonus, separate from the contract and signing bonus, too. Depending on when that's due, they might not even be responsible for paying it if he's traded.

It looks like they have it as the bonus being spread out over the previous 5 years, with 2008 being the final year of those 5 years.

Looks like they paid his bonus money out early (which doesn't surprise me), so they would actually free up $500K if they trade or release him.

If Lito is moved, does he have to give back that pro-rated bonus $---If so, Lito better rent a U-haul--that is a shitload nickels.
