so they pick their plays when hunt is in there.
running plays, short drops, swing passes.
remember, FB prob only plays in abt 25% of the plays in this offense anyway.
if ur a def coord. and tony hunt's in the game, he is someone who has to be defensed. none of the other FB's the birds have appear to cause that concern

For 8 million bucks, I think we haven't seen the last of Strahan- and I'm actually ok with that.
Would like to see some more Runyan-Strahan dances

I really don't see him coming back. He seems like a guy who is enjoying his time off from the daily grind, and all the reports from former teammates echo this notion.
If anything, I think it will take a lot more than $8 million to lure him back. He's no longer in his prime, he beat his body up for years, he went out on top, and he has a cushy gig working on TV. It's going to take *a lot* for him to turn his back on all of that and come back to football.

cards pick warner over leinart
unreal. what is warner, 35/36 now ?
do the cards really think they can win it all now ? if not, why waste time with warner. they need to find out over a long season if leinart can play.
they may lose the kid now mentally. how much a team-guy do you think he is right now?
he might pull an rj umberger on them, and this little motivational tact may just motivate him right off the team in 2 yrs when he can walk, just like umberger walked away from the flyers this summer.

I think Leinart has one more chance (likely at some point this year when Warner gets hurt or struggles), but they are essentially writing him off.
After 3 years, he's still struggling mightily with the offense and has made a lot of mistakes off the field, so I wouldn't be shocked if Leinart is elsewhere after this season (probably Tampa) and Warner keeps the seat warm for another "QB of the future".

you would think they would give him a full yr to stay healthy and try and execute the offense. how else will they know? the guy won 2 BSC bowl championships i believe, has a great pedigree, and was picked about # 12 or so in the draft. expected to go top 5 if i recall.
imo...too shortsighted by them

Warner is the best QB they have- apparently when Whisenhunt went to the "two headed QB offense" Leinhart couldn't keep pace with Kurt.
It's a matter of keeping the locker room together.
What would happen to the Eagles locker room if, because of Lurie's misguided loyalty, Buck was to start over Westbrook?
(A little over the top, but you get the idea)

Shawn Merriman has two torn ligaments in his knee. Nevertheless, he thinks it's just a flesh wound and will seek another opinion (if not play altogether).
Someone place a call for Mr. N. Imrod?

I guess, but I'm assuming he's been bad enough in practice and his brief career that they just think he isn't "the guy". You'd have to think they want him to succeed, but just aren't seeing the development to make them think he will.

On the plus side, sales of his jersey should skhyrocket. A crazy idea to make up for the money he feels like he's not getting paid.
On the minus side, he'd better back it up on the field when he comes back, because he's all but guaranteed that no other team will be willing to touch his antics. If he did this to force the Bengals to get rid of him, he's a nimrod.
