I just saw the latest rah rah on philadelphiaeagles.com and since no one is posting anything, Does anyone think that Ryan Moats has a chance to be a player?
He says he was playing by instinct in college, and when he learned the discipline required, his play went to hell, but then he learned and was ready to go when he got injured.
It really seems like a long shot to me, and I would wonder if the coaching staff would even give him a shot. And why is he even still on the team if he isn't going to be given a chance?
With 12 draft picks coming in, one would think that there would be at least one new runner to compete. But I guess if you never start your rookies you have to keep around your also-rans.
I just feel sorry for the guy. He had big runs! and fumbles too. He looked like a second Westbrook, and yet not.

I like Moats, but I don't know if he has a shot or not. I'm also not sure about his assertion that he was ready to bust out last year. I think he was fumbling about once per day when he got hurt.
I think Hunt is a slug, so Moats will have a chance to beat out Hunt straight up, but he'll have to show flashes of his big play ability to get that shot.
I could easily see them cutting Hunt if he looks like he did last year and I also think they'll take a running back, but they could keep as many as 4 backs as long as one of them can help on special teams as a returner.

How many more chances will Moats get? His best opportunity came when their was uncertainty with Westbrook, and he didn't make the most of it. And he would've gotten cut last year had he not gotten injured. I don't see him getting past mini-camp. And let's not forget Tra Thomas almost using him as a toothpick on the field in San Fran.
How much does he make?

I don't think he makes much money. I'm guessing close to the league minimum as a 3rd round pick on his original deal.
He looked good as a rookie (IMO), disappointed in his second year, and didn't play his 3rd so my thought is he should be given every opportunity ton win a roster spot, but a poor effort this time will earn him the door.

I agree f-dallas... I was impressed with Moats in his rookie camp and later that season (Remember his game against the Rams in St Louis?)
Apparently the playbook became more complicated for the kid and the fumbling... he's really fallen out of favor with the coaches. I think the Birds grab another RB this draft to add to the competition in camp this year.
Buck, Hunt, Moats, Rookie to be Named and possible veteran addition after June 1st will be battling to share carries with Westbrook.
I think Moats makes it to training camp (only because he was a 3rd round pick), but his chances are slim to none if he starts losing reps in camp again.

DO the Eagles draft a fullback? I think they almost have too. With Kleco as a big question mark, I'd like to see someone opening holes for Westbrook.

If they take one, I think it will be late.
They have Jason Davis and Klecko. Davis can do the job if all else fails.
Hell, I think Lorenzo Neal is still a free agent.
