Gcobb Hilarity.....
"BREAKING NEWS"
Sheppard To Bucs Deal Fell Through
Written by Garry Cobb
Thursday, 17 July 2008
I've learned that Lito Sheppard was very upset that a trade to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell through earlier this off season.
Sheppard visited the Buccaneers in April just before the draft with the hopes that he would be traded south to the Bucs. Unfortunately the Eagles wanted more than the Bucs were willing to give.
I understand that there were talks between the two teams but they didn't go far.
Sheppard was in a very good mood when he paid his visit to Tampa because he thought a trade was imminent. Of course he wound up being very disappointed.

F-dallas has learned this story was reported (by everyone) back in April.
It has come to my attention Gcobb just reports things that have already been reported, or sends Micah a fiction assignment for web traffic.

My sources say Somalian Kearse may not be an opening day starter for the Eagles this year. He needs to get his mind on football or he could end up playing somewhere else this year.

SHEPPARD, AGENT MEET WITH REID, BANNER
Posted by Mike Florio on July 26, 2008, 11:03 p.m.
A source with knowledge of the situation tells us that Eagles cornerback Lito Sheppard and agent Drew Rosenhaus held on Saturday a sit-down with Eagles coach Andy Reid and team president Joe Banner.
The meeting was described as calm and productive. Sheppard still wants a trade or a new contract.
The Saturday hamstring injury to Asante Samuel might have caused the Eagles to realize that it would be prudent to keep both Samuel and Sheppard. If they do, however, they’ll likely need to bump up Sheppard’s salary significantly.
Sheppard is signed through 2011, at salaries of $2 million, $3 million, $3.7 million, and $4.25 million, respectively over the next four seasons.
With Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin unhappy in Arizona and resigned to departing once his contract expires after the 2010 season, a trade of Sheppard for Boldin might make sense. The Eagles likely would have to kick in a little bit more to even out the package, and both teams would have to be ready to pony up the cash to the player received via any such transaction.

For the life of me, I can't figure out how/why the Eagles and Cards can't get a deal done.
It just seems like such a natural fit for both teams.

it takes two willing partners to make a trade
( actually that sounds like the sex life of
long time married couples. )
one side or both have yet to see the value of
the trade. in the eagles case, it may be because
theyre waiting to be sure about samuel's hammie
