No confirmation of Bowman being an Eagle, btw.
The EMB says nothin of him, nor does any other site anywhere on the net aside from the 1 FD linked.
i hope he's an eagle, i was excited to hear he was, but fearing he isnt now...

If I recall correctly, TO ran about a 4.6 40 when he was drafted. I'm so sick of the 40's, people run 40 yards in a straight line maybe a handful of times unless you're going deep a lot. Most teams have more complex routes involved. The only time it really comes into play is when a guy gets wide open and has a shot at scoring big, which isn't a huge part of the game.
Shuttle times should be more important. Knowing how fast a guy runs 10-15 yards, makes a cut and runs another 5 makes more sense. This is why I hate the freekin combine.

Something has to be seriously up with Bowman other than a little weed and 3 tenths of a second on his 40.
It looks like he simply can't land a job.

So Bowman is still on the street?
I'm really disappointed that they didn't sign him.

As a junior, McBride caught a career-best 55 passes for 852 yards and 11 touchdowns.
The Eagles also signed Penn State receiver Terrell Golden and Nebraska wideout Frantz Hardy. As a senior, Golden received the most significant playing time of his college career and finished with 30 receptions for 345 yards and three touchdowns last season. He also was chosen as one of the Nittany Lions' captains.
Hardy had 48 receptions for 971 yards with seven touchdowns in 3 years at Nebraska.
The other undrafted free agents are:
* Hofstra cornerback Kyle Arrington, who had 30 tackles and an interception during his senior season.
* Washington State fullback Jed Collins, who spent the last two seasons of his college career as a tight end. He had career highs in receptions (52), yards (512), and TDs (three) as a senior.
* Middle Tennessee State tackle Franklin Dunbar, who was a two-time All-Sun Belt Conference selection.
* Kansas State linebacker Justin Roland, who had 70 tackles last season.

Shocking, if you ask me.
I think this guy is one of the small handful of players with the most potential as an undrafted rook.
Maybe there is more to the story here, but I haven't been able to find anything I'd consider a red flag beyond a couple pot issues. Has the NFL gone THAT crazy, though?
I mean, if Pac-Man can get a 10th try, this guy can't get ONE as a pro?

Exactly my thoughts FD.
Given Bowman's college career and size, I'm shocked he has not been picked up by ANYONE.
With all the shit that goes on with players could a "small bag of weed" and a 4.6 40 really stop this guy from even getting a sniff?
Crazy

Im goin to go out on a limb and suggest the following:
Usually these kids are kinda forced to sign on the dotted line asap.
There's little time to weigh offers, and given that theyre undrafted- they usually sign immediately.
With this kid's rep and potential (not rep as in rap sheet, but his big push prior to his incidents) something tells me he has a smart agent who is insisting that his client have a chance to weigh all offers.
Like a 'higer end' undrafted FA.
I believe the Eagles and Cowboys were suitors- why else would each team be randomly leaked to the kid?
I think he'll sign somewhere in the next few days - in time to report to someone's rookie camp.
I think he's 1 of the rare few who realizes he has the ability to really latch on somewhere and carve out a career and is choosing his team wisely with that in mind.

Could very well be part of it. Here's a story from an Oklahoma newspaper on it:
Bowman's story is much different. There were rumors the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles might be interested in giving Bowman a tryout, but spokesmen for both organizations on Monday denied they were interested.
As of Monday evening, Bowman's future was still in limbo. Bowman, who was arrested for possession of marijuana a few weeks ago, ran a slow 40 time (4.74). As a result, Bowman has had difficulty finding a team to give him an opportunity. link

Both teams DENIED IT?
WTH?
I believe both had to be interested.
Something else either came out on this kid that's negative, or else he's doing what I proposed.

There has to be way more to the drug issue than just tossing a bag of weed from his truck and every NFL team must know about it.
Found this little blurb from one of his scouting reports:
Update: Bowman was arrested for possession of Marijuana in early April 2008 and has fallen off of most draft boards. He would definitely be worthy of signing as a free agent, but he needs to get his drug addiction under control to have any chance in the NFL.
Addiction under control? There is some serious info out there on him.
From projected 1st rounder to nothing...

The pot likely lead straight to free basing Comet Cleanser and the guy's now the closest thing to Keith Richards since Richards in 1977.
Pot's evil--- everyone knows it leads to much harsher drugs.
Come on.

This guy has to be into some bad stuff. NFL teams can't be so absurd that they think a little pot is that big of a deal.
Even if he fails a drug test and misses half of his rookie season he was still worth at least a late round throw away pick. But to not even be able to land a job as an UDFA?

I really like the Golden signing. I have watched this kid for a few years and he has good skills as a possession receiver. He always seemed to be in JoePas doghouse.
I am surprised the Eagles have not signed Robert Felton, OG, Arkansas. The kid started at every OL position during his college career. Sounds like a sound investment for the fatman.

I am baffled that no one has taken a chance on Maurice Purify out of Nebraska. I guess all of his off the field nonsense was enough.

So it looks like he signed? Still nothing official from the Eagles, though:
Eagles | Team signs Bowman
Wed, 30 Apr 2008 14:09:59 -0700
Josh Buchanan, of NFLDraftBible.com, reports the Philadelphia Eagles signed undrafted rookie free-agent WR Adarius Bowman (Oklahoma State) Wednesday, April 30. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This one is getting a little more credence (because the Mods on the Eagles board aren't moving the threads like they were before), but I'm with you.
I don't know how legit it is, but figured it was an "update" of sorts.
