I know, I know there are still rumors about Williams to Philly but what you haven't heard is that with the Lions & Eagles are in discussion right now acquire #11 for 2 first round picks in 2009 + Sheppard for Williams and a 3rd rounder in 09. I have an insider that works for the Lions and apparently Jason Licht one of the Eagles higher ups had Lunch with Matt Miller today and that is the buzz.

It's true... I read an article that Matt Millen recently changed his surname to "Miller" to honor the biological father he never knew.
Leave it to those shrewd Eagles to get out of the first round 3 years in a row!

InsideEagle, would you go undercover as an exotic dancer and grind your knee into Millen's crotch in order to make this happen? J/K, InsideEagle!

Two firsts plus Lito is real steep.
Nonetheless, this team needs a WR enough to warrant any cost.
I'd feel much better if they were trading for CJ and not RW. I know many of you hate CJ's attitude, but RW doesn't match up in terms of past production or expected production. They're just not equivalent.

Why are we even spending time in this forum. the eagles wouldnt give up two first round picks for anyone, except a DT

2 1st round picks isn't a ton nowadays, depending on where they are. Let's say both teams finish at 9-7, slightly improved years for both clubs. That would render the picks roughly in the 18-22 range most likely. Getting 2 picks around 20, along with a 2nd rounder (where Lito's market seemed this year) to get to a top 5 level of the draft, but definately not top 3. Look at the player base in the top 5 the last few years and tell me if getting to say #5 would be worth that?
I can think of a few guys that would warrent that kind of move. Torry Holt is one of them. There's not many others though.

With Joey Harrington and Jon Kitna throwing to him? Go figure ...

i agree fred.
to me, roy williams would be one of the top receivers in the league in the proper offense.
add to the mix that he never had a guy like westbrook out of the backfield, to take some of the defense's focus away from him and the other receivers in detroit. and after mcnabb is gone, whenever that may be, he could be KK's go to guy right from jump.
let me just pour a little more gas on this fire before i go. i heard rdiddy say on sat. that IF, and that is IF a trade for williams or any big name was going to come about, it would probably take place after 6/1, as it would reduce the cap hit the lions would take, and if lito were involved in the trade, reduce the cap hit the eagles would be forced to take too.
