Eh, it's fine. I know they don't have white glove service up there, so I can see your concerns with it.
But it's not bad at all, lots of families and young couples live right there, and it's certainly not people think of when they hear "North Philly". Plus, there's a great guy named Earl up there. He calls kielbasa "killbacki" and calls everyone "boy"

WILD CLAIMS IN HARRISON CASE
Posted by Mike Florio on May 6, 2008, 7:01 a.m.
We were alerted last night to some eye-popping claims regarding the Marvin Harrison case made by Philly sports anchor Keith Russell during a Monday afternoon radio spot in Miami. And so we tracked down the audio, and we have given it a listen.
Appearing with Jason Jackson on WQAM, Russell said that his sources tell him that the guy who was allegedly shot in the hand after leaving Harrison’s bar last Tuesday had come to the establishment to carry out a gangland-style “hit.”
A “hit” on Harrison.
Seriously.
Russell said during the segment that the issue relates to Harrison’s father, who is (per Russell) incarcerated, and that the supposed “hit” was in retaliation for something Harrison’s father supposedly had done.
Media sources in Philadelphia tell us that the contention, which Russell apparently hasn’t made on the air in his home market, is simply not true.
Russell also said that there are “people who are willing to do whatever is necessary” to keep Harrison from facing charges.
Um, of ALL the broadcasters in town, Im thinking the LAST one to have any sorta 'in' with anobody remotely gang related or with knowledge of thier activity would be the over annunciating Keith Russell. This is hilarious.
I honestly put Hurrican Schwartz as more of a favorite to have this kinda access than Russell.

I maintain that it is not a good neighborhood. I am not saying it's open air warfare, but it's not a good neighborhood

Nah, it's fine. Lots of block parties (held by whites and young people, even!), about 5 blocks from the art museum, tons of restaurants around there (best Thai place in the city is about 3 blocks from the bar he owns), couple parks. It's certainly far from the "crack-infested, crime-riddled" North Philly Sal Pal was talking about today
