Not surprising that Eckel's only "scoop" of the past 5 years came from the scouting department. I bet Ross/Modrak couldn't wait to tell Eckel in an effort to embarrass the Eagles as soon as Ligcht starting sniffing around them for a new job.

Reaction-wise, not sure what to say. Without knowing why he was fired, it's tough to say anything one way or the other. Was it for poor scouting? Was he showing up for work drunk? It's almost impossible to know why (unless they tell us) because he doesn't have any transparent measure for evaluation to the fans.

Wow, how idiotic can you be? Telling your VP of Player Personnel to go look for a job a week before the most important weekend of the year for him. Even if you have a legitimate reason for him to be gone, couldn't you have figured that out a couple months before the draft and tell him then, or wait another week until after the draft?
