Per PFT (and this is great if true):
With the Dallas Cowboys’ 2008 season, which was presumably resurrected after knocking off a twin-pack of NFC West Twinkies at home in four days, now teetering on the edge of the abyss after blowing a ten-point lead with less than seven minutes to play at Pittsburgh on Sunday, owner Jerry Jones focused his most candid remarks on a guy who wasn’t even there to contribute to the debacle.
Jones has, in essence, declared to the world that he thinks Marion Barber, a bruising bull of a tailback, is a big sissy.
“He can play with that injured toe,” Jones said, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. ”He can play with the soreness and a combination of those things. I see nothing that led us to believe he couldn’t.”

What a dick...Based on how Barber plays and what he's played through already (specifically playing so well with fractured ribs), I don't know how you question his toughness as an owner.
I think you have to give him the benefit of the doubt, no?
Very odd. The funny thing is someone, somewhere would have called Barber selfish if he toughed it out and was a shell of himself in the game.

Cowboys really should've won that game yesterday, and it should've have come down to Witten missing two crucial passes.
The turning point was when they did nothing after the huge 4th and 1 stop. Once they punted and Pitt got the ball in excellent field position, I knew the game was going to end in a Steelers win.

Also consider this - the owner put himself on the line for predicting the Boys make the playoffs, so unless you're decapitated (and even then they'd wrap your next with duct tape and ask to carry the ball a couple more times), Jones expects you to be out there.

Chris Samuels is out for the season.
Trent Cole is relieved, and the Eagles playoff chances look a bit more solid (if still far-fetched).

watching carolina on mnf now, and two things jump out---
the 1st round pick that philly holds of carolina's is goin to be about worthless, and anyone think havin Jeff Otah on the roster would see the team in better shape than a brutally low 1st rounder next yr?
(tho next yrs draft talent wise could be the best one in decades- as tons of underclassmen are said to declare- for fear of a rookie cap in 2010.)

Say that too loud and Andy Reid will trade for every pick in the 4th round.

I wouldn't be surprised if they packaged both first round picks to move up and take a lineman.

no doubt about it. the thought of having to sign two 1st round picks might cause banner to have a mental breakdown.

I'm thinking that's what they are going to do, too. They can get into the top 10 with their 2 picks and this is supposedly the draft of a generation with tackles.
How incredibly boring even though they need one (or two).
It would be super sweet if they somehow landed a LT in free agency because it would suck to lose both of those picks for a an unknown gamble on the blindside after the Justice fiasco. They could re-sign Runyan or fill the RT spot with someone in-house, but their best option at LT is probably Herremans and I don't think they want to use him there.

2 first round picks might actually cost them the coveted SCOTY award if they were gonna actuall use them on players. But the way I see it is this, Banner and FB will either:
A. Trade both 1st round picks to move up into the top 5 to draft the next Antone Davis or:
B. Trade out of the first round altogether.
Now with 2 1st rounders I'm not sure how that can happen, "B", but I'm sure with a SCOTY hanging in the balance, they will find it.
Thats my rant for the day, (clears throat) times yours.

If they would trade out of the first round with both picks (which I don't see happening) for the 3rd straight year, I would think a league investigation might be in order.

Most likely draft scenario:
Trade the better first round pick to stockpile late round picks and possibly a first in next years draft.
Keep the crappy first round pick and take either an undersized OT and convert him to OG or take a fat OG and convert him to OT. You know how Reid loves guys that can multi-task.

That would've been a tremendous insurance policy if you couldn't re-sign Runyan for one more year.

Pacman Jones' neck injury is considered career-threatening.
Didn't even come back for a full game and he might not come back ever.

my favorite quote from the interview:
"We got a genius for a head coach, I don't know, I'm sure he on top of things. He's got everything figured out. Hey, that's up to him. All I can do is when he calls a play is go out and try to execute to the best of my ability."

T.O. talking shit on Emmitt and Keyshawn:
T.O. claims that he doesn't watch ESPN, but he sure gets worked up about what the network's analysts have to say.
He's particularly perturbed about ex-Cowboys Keyshawn Johnson and Emmitt Smith, who have often been critical of the current Valley Ranch residents. Without prompting, T.O. fired a few shots at Keyshawn and Emmitt today.
"Those two need their own show - Dumb and Dumber," said T.O., who was otherwise jolly while sporting a Cowboys-customized Santa cap and blinking red nose.
T.O. called Emmitt a hypocrite for publicly calling the Cowboys a bunch of individuals, then leaving a message on Greg Ellis' cell phone to pass onto the team. (T.O. wouldn't say what the message was.) T.O. also pointed out that Emmitt doesn't even know the name of the rookie running back who starred against the Steelers, since No. 22 apparently referred to Tashard Choice as Rashard.
As for Keyshawn, T.O. pointed out for the 1,348th time that the Cowboys gave Keyshawn a pink slip so they could sign him.
"Obviously, this guy is still really jealous of me," T.O. said, "because I'm here and this guy is in the booth talking about me and the Cowboys."
Gotta love it.
