There's never a plan B.
There is but it looks very similar to plan A.
Thus the nickname mule or jackass.

Plax lays out the truth, Eli truely is in fact a bitch.
"I was always his biggest supporter, even days he wasn’t on, `cause I could sense he didn’t have thick skin,” Burress said. “Then I went away, and I thought he would come see me, but nothing, not a letter, in two years. I don’t want to say it was a slap in the face, but I thought our relationship was better than that.”
Yo, click it.

Where they BBQ buddies.... I'm mean if your family doesn't come to visit or write while your in the big house I get it... but a teammate.
Apparently he thought they were closer friends. In Eli's world not.
FTR but I wouldn't visit anyone in the joint unless they were my close friends or family.
Plax sounds like the bitch in this situation.

I dunno, a guy who made my career mean something by being a big target for me, and helped me at the time become the richest NFL QB because of that would be kind of a big deal to me I would think. I guess I focused a bit more on the 'not so thick skin' part.

McNabb 7/15 for 39 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. Those numbers suck.

Kolb 18/27 for 309 with 2 TDs and a 130 rating. That's pretty good.
And that Akers guy had a pretty good day today also.

Rush was right McNabb got good press because he is black. If he was white he would have been roasted over the coals far more then his bbqed skin got cooked.

Speaking of the Cards/Kolb. Nice work by Newton. He struggled in that last drive but some of those incompletions could have been caught by his receivers.

- McNabb looked like he was worth every bit of that 6th round pick they gave up for him. He'll tear that team apart by midseason.
- The way the Colts got obliterated, it makes you wonder how much one guy means to the whole team. Yeah, Manning doesn't run/block/play D, but it was like they knew they had no shot.
- Heard Merrill Reese on 1060 this morning saying the Cowboys will never win a SB with Romo. Dude absolutely cost them the game, but he played pretty well for the time before that. Cowboys have injures to their secondary, but they look like they'll be better than last year.
- Pittsburgh.....man, 7 TOs?

Not sure what happened later in the game because I went to bed (I just saw they kind of shut him down later in the game), but Dez Bryant is going to tear the league up if he doesn't self destruct or get hurt.

Also, you have to love week 1 because the things everyone agrees on typically get blown out of the water.
1. Steelers are great, so the Steelers get blown out.
2. With the new kickoff rule, they've effectively eliminated the return. 3 kickoff returns for TD in week 1.
3. McNabb could be in for a bounce-back season. McNabb throws for 30 yards.
4. Cam Newton will struggle mightily throwing the football, Cam Newton sets rookie record for passing yards in his first start.
5. Falcons are chic pick to go all the way. Falcons get beat up by the Bears.

Don't forget - Cleveland is the team on the rise. Cleveland gets beat at home by a team they were favored over.
And - KC will rebound over the hapless Bills. KC gets smoked by Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Saw this in MMQB this morning:
"7. I think there will be a female NFL official by 2014. My guess is 2013. Not a referee, but a field official at one of the other six positions. The league is scouting the small handful of female officials at the major-college level this year, and it's not the first year a search has been conducted."
Come on...stupid. If there is a female official so good at her job that not hiring her would effectively be discrimination, fine. Is there really a need to force it, though?

- Jon Beason is done for he year with an Achilles.
- Eric Berry is done for the year with an ACL.
- Kaeding is done for the year with an ACL.
No one cares about the idiot kicker, obviously, but Beason and Berry are two extremely talented young players. Hate to see guys like that suffer those kinds of injuries.
With Berry and Allen already suffering ACL injuries in their careers, Earl Thomas should probably start squirreling away cash.

I for one would be much more interested in the officiating calls if there was a POA calling out the penalties.

Odds are greater of Mule having a 50/50 play call ratio than the first female NFL official being even remotely tempting.

It's all about the $$$.
The NFL has done a lot of stuff to expand its footprint within the female demographic, and it's paying off. Trust me, that whole pink-jersey breast cancer awareness campaign isn't being done for solely altruistic reasons. The NFL already has a massive share of the American male demographic, so now they're targeting American females and international sports fans. Soon, the NFL will be attempting to win over your pets.
I'm sure women would like to see a woman not named Pam Oliver on the field during the game, so having a female official would be huge for female fans of the game. I'd imagine most of us wouldn't care, as long as the official is good, but this is the type of decision that is typically forced, so hopefully, they find a qualified candidate. I can only imagine the uproar she'll face the first time that heavily-scrutinized woman makes a bad call.
BTW, I think the NFL's campaign with women has been wildly successful. When I was in high school or college, I knew very few women who were active followers of NFL football. Now, I can't believe how many women I know who pack bars every Sunday and run fantasy teams. I was pretty stunned yesterday to see that about 45% of the bar yesterday was women, and it wasn't just women being dragged there by their boyfriends. There were whole tables of nothing but women, including one who brought her toddler in his DeSean jersey.
Seriously, a toddler in a bar? Where did she think she was? Park Slope?

Can not wait until Jon Gruden gets another Coaching job. I'd rather they bring back Dennis Miller or Kornheiser.

Gruden was extolling the Miami defense. Either he jinxed or was clueless as to how crappy they are considering Brady punished them for >500 yards.
Lots of damage done by the TE's. I wonder how the Birds would handle it? Assante wouldn't ever try and tackle one. They have no LB's to cover them.
At any rate, the Pats gave up 400+ to Chad Henne. (He was passing at will prior to falling behind).
I'm always surprised at how opening weekends play out.
