How much does it suck that New England is going to win this game. Ugh. Double ugh.

The Pats are just great...especially Brady. He struggled early, but it just felt like there was no way he wouldn't win it.
BTW, the Raiders are beating the Chargers ass right now. If not for fatass Jamarcus Russell, they'd be up two scores on 2 drives.
McFadden looks great.

Is that a terrible fucking call in the Raiders game or do I not know the rules? Two feet down in the end zone w/ possesion = Done, no?

GGB: absolutely agreed. That was a TD, plain and simple.
I think we'll mark the last drive in the Chargers game as the official changing of the guard between LT and Sproles. I hope LT handles it well.

That call in the end zone catch was correct, as far as I know.
If a player is falling when they catch a pass, they have to maintain possession through the catch, which includes the fall.
I think it applies to sideline catches as well.

I also don't think last night was the changing of the guard between LT and Sproles, but it did open a new chapter and shine some light on how they'll use the two.
Really, they are telling everyone is LT's their grinder and Sproles is the playmaker. If last night was any indication, LT has essentially been removed from their passing game, which is a big part of what has made him great.
To me, LT look fine last night. Nort special, but fine. They are probably using these two players exactly as they should for the time being.
Anyone who took LT early in fantasy leagues should be concerned, though. I know I have him in one of my big leagues and watching him essentially leave the game with 10 minutes left in the first half, not be on the field for the final drive (including goal line), and not being involved in the passing game was tough.
Realling, if we're talking "changing of the guard", it's LT to Rivers. I don't think people will be saying "how do we stop LT" this year...they'll be trying to figure out how they slow down the passing game.

That's somehow BETTER?
Look, I rolled the dice on Tomlinson and I think he's going to be serviceable, but he didn't bust out last night and lost too many touches. If thta was due to injury, even worse.
This is the wrong thread, but you can't be feeling good about your LT over AP selection.

i was less than impressed with the pats....sure brady had a great game and pulled it out, but the KR gift-wrapped the game....they had no running game and based on how they abused the bills o-line (with a couple of rookie starters)and controlled the clock, it was ridiculous that they were down 11. but brady has IT and sometimes that's enough.
i expected LT to have a bounce back year, but from a FF perspective, i'd be concerned after last night.

Feeling just fine, since I have Sproles as well-
Really, you guys are jumping the gun just a bit, after one game.
The thing that REALLY concerns me, if you want to make a point, is all the injuries to the offensive line- that could be a problem

That was a blown pick, my man. You're probably the only person in America who took LT over AP.

I think their offense was just ooff by a hair last night...Brady had some accuracy issues, they dropped some passes, etc. I think the Pats O is going to start clicking soon and be almost what it was 2 years ago.
What WOULD concern me if I was a Pats fan is the defense. I didn't hear the prognosis for Mayo, but they looked average, which is never good.
That said, it's week one, so everything we're seeing could be a mirage.

Come on, man. LT over AP?
That doesn't mean your team is screwed or anything, but in all the combined Sportsline drafts (tens of thousands, if not more) LT never went higher than 5th overall.
I like LT, but not compared to Purple Jesus.

“Vick served 18 months in prison for bankrolling a dog-fighting ring but was signed by the Eagles less than a month after his release.”
Oh really! NO SHIT! Enough already…
Like everyone in the world with a pulse doesn’t know this by now. Why constantly use the same generic sentence for the end of every article on Vick? Just me or is anyone else annoyed to read this day in and day out? Do the Philly papers have this blurb at the end of the paragraphs or is it national media?

Several Eagles players were fined for the celebration after Celek's TD. I'm not thrilled with the NFL fining every guy who shows an ounce of enthusiasm, but everybody knows the rule and knows Goodell has a bug up his ass about it.
What frosts my balls is that the League didn't fine the Panthers for the hit on McNabb. Now, watching it live, I thought it was borderline late, probably not. But after watching it in relation to how the Panthers D moved away after Celek entered the endzone in almost the same fashion (watch the youtube clip), I feel differently. I believe it was a late forearm to the back, mostly out of frustration.
And should have been fined.
