11/1 Eagles Giants game moved from 4:15 to 1pm to accommodate possible Phillies home World Series game at 8:30.

That is one long drinking day. My liver is gonna hate me.

talon, you're more concerned about a regular season eagles game than a phillies WS game?

I want Birds->Phils. I don't need a Minnesota vs. Green Bay pitstop in between. That should be the amuse bouche of the meal with Birds-Giants as the entree, and Phils beating the Yanquis for dessert.

Absolutely agree, Talon. This is Birds/Giants, not Birds/Chiefs.

How awesome would the stadium area be with Eagles/Giants at 4 and Phillies/Yankees at 8:30? It would be an all-timer.

A Steelers fan at work keeps telling me how great the Giants are this year and how weak the Eagles schedule has been.

I just looked at the Giants schedule and they haven't exactly played anybody either.

Skins - Stink
Cowturds - Suck
Tampa, KC, and Oakland - See Above.

Guess we will see how good the Vaigiants are on Sunday when the play the Saints in the Big Easy.

Beating the Cowboys on the road during the opening of their new stadium is no small feat, and the Cowboys, when they kept the ball out of Romo's hands, were very effective against that line.

Though, TBF, the Giants have looked more dominant against crap teams than the Eagles. We'll know what playing field they're on when they play the Saints.

I'm not saying it's a deal-breaker, I'm just wondering how it can be handled - people trying to pull into the same lots that people are trying to get out of.

Also a valid concern.

Not only parking space availability, it's just impractical to have so much traffic going into and out of a small area at the same time.

You're still going to have that overlap.

The Eagles game now ends around 4:00. It's probably a close one (fingers crossed), so you likely won't have an early mass exodus. The Eagles crowd begins making their exodus around 4:15ish, and that continues until about 5:45 or so. They won't realistically be able to clear out the lots entirely until around 6:30, which is less than two hours before the start of the Phillies game. While this exodus is happening, people will be pulling in for the Phils. Let's not even begin to consider people coming early to tailgate pre-Phillies.

If you had the Eagles at 4 and the Phillies at 8:15, you'd actually have a better parking situation, IMHO. Phillies fans would be pulling into the lots while everyone was inside the Eagles game, when the area is almost entirely void of traffic. That's an ideal time to park cars. Now, if you're a stupid douchebag who waits until 7:30 to come down to the stadium, I have no sympathy for you and your asinine lack of planning.

To encourage early arrivals by Phils fans, they could easily setup some screens with the Eagles game in the lots, and the massive screen in the Tailgate Zone(TM) is also visible from afar. Hell, the Phillies could play the game on the jumbotron, so people would go in early (and buy things to eat and drink).

You could also encourage people to take SEPTA, but after the WFC parade SEPTA debacle, those trains would likely be filled by me and me alone.

The only issue could be the number of parking spaces, but this isn't the first time the Phils and Birds have played on the same day, is it?

In other news, the original Brett Favre, 40 year-old Junior Seau is believed to be re-signing with the Patriots for the 437th time.

Another league source voiced puzzlement over Checketts not discerning the potential backlash of Limbaugh's participation in his group in advance of the news becoming public. "I would have assumed he would have run it up the flagpole with the league before it became known,'' a league source said. "Then a tepid response would have told him where things stood.''

Too clueless in that ivory tower.

it's interesting, they end the article by quoting a league source saying that this is all good for rush, he gets free pub and will get to spin the rejection to his benefit to his "dittoheads".

but i don't buy that. rush loves sports and this is now his second venture (the first being the firing as a commentator for the mcnabb comment) where he has been rejected. and in this case, it sounds like there was no mincing of words - just a flat out condemnation of the man and the possibility that he could ever enter into the greater mainstream world.

i hope it has really sunk in with him - he may have his millions and his minions, but in the wider world, he's seen as nothing more than a clown playing a part, a bigot, a hypocrite and an opportunist.

he can suck that down with half a cheesecake and a bottle of vicodin tonight.
