Bass, Bass, Bass...you'll never learn.
You have to separate your personal feelings on Favre when you're judging the Vikes as a team. They are not unbeatable (by any stretch), but this nonsense about them "not being a good team" is patently absurd.
They are playing really inconsistent football right now and I have no idea what's going on with them, but they're 4-1 against likely playofff teams this year and just pounded the Bengals a week ago.
I think we're just seeing that there are two superior teams this year (The Saints and Colts) with absolutely no perfect teams.
You mentioned it yourself, but based on week 15 who is a good team in the NFL?
The Saints got manhandled by the Cowboys.
The playoff bound Broncos were beaten at home by the Raiders.
The Cards needed a final second play to beat the Lions.
The Texans needed a 4th quarter field goal to edge out the Rams.
The #2 and #3 defenses going into yesterday (Packers and Steelers) play a 37-36 game.
That's just one week! The Vikes are absolutely a good team at home or on the road, but they are niot a great team. There's only one team in the NFC that's better than any other team, IMO, and we saw this week that they aren't unbeatable even at home.

Hyperbole noted - they're not a GREAT team.
You think my dislike of Favre is seething through, but it's not about that. Favre has been playing very well for them - I think I admitted that a while back. Nope, that's not the issue.
What is the issue (as pointed out before) is that they have holes that can be exploited by the remaining playoff teams. The 4-1 record is misleading, because they beat the Pack twice (before their OLine started playing better), the Bengals (when Carson Palmer couldn't hit the broadside of a barn), and the Cards. Yes, everyone has holes, but I think the Vikes are less adapt to fixing them.
Philly should have no reason to fear a trip up north. Ditto Arizona. If they have to get into a shootout with either team, the prospects don't fare well for them, because you don't want Favre throwing 40+ times a game - you want him at his most effective: when AP is running well and he can throw frozen ropes against a defense not looking for them.
It's all smoke because there's only one great team in the NFC right now.

Each one of those losses yesterday, btw, can be explained somewhat reasonably.
When two top Ds meet, sometimes it ends up being a shootout.
Arizona was coming off a huge loss on the road against a division foe on MNF, and had the short week before another road game. Even if it was the Lions.
Oakland and Denver sometimes trade wins in the other's stadium. That's been going on for a while now.
Seattle - what happened to Seattle?
NE was a dropped Josh Reed pass away from going into OT with Buffalo, on a day where Brady put up Vick-like #s.
I mean, you either made a killing yesterday or got blown to pieces. Looked like everyone was looking forward to Christmas vacation.

I would not fear going up to Minnesota. Favre has never played well against the Eagles, either. However, let's not forget that a far inferior Vikings team only lost to the Eagles by 8 points inthe playoffs a year ago.
As far as the Cards go...I fear the Cards because they owned the Eagles last year in the playoffs.

Bass, any of those reasons make sense after you know the outcomes of games because any reason makes sense after the games are over. If a team has a short week and wins after a loss, everyone says "They were coming off that short week and really pissed about the loss, so they just unloaded on them". If a team loses after a short week, everyone says the short week killed them.

Vikings really should've won that game, but the Eagles are better than they were last year, as well. Peters/Allen would be either a matchup for the ages or a complete massacre, but it'd still be great to watch.
I'd almost want the Birds to get the #2 and Minny the #3, so that Favre's perfect record (never won in Philly) stays intact, but that's not gonna happen.

Yes, hindsight is 20/20, but sometimes people get too caught up in the week to week and not look at things for the season.
Yeah, there's NO way JaMarcus Russell should've engineered a GW drive against a playoff team on the road.
It was just a wacky week, made moreso by the sheer # of bad teams who want to play spoiler. Who knew Cleveland would pound Pittsburgh from start to finish? Yeah, that was last week, but still.
SOME of the wackiness can be explained, but not all of it. Not trying to say, 'ho ho, I saw THAT coming!'

Yep, Philly. They will be willed and inspired to the Super Bowl by the great human story that is Michael Vick.
It's no coincidence that Philly's offense went flat once Vick left the game with a thigh bruise. I can't imagine how inspiring it is to have a courageous man and personal property rights martyr like Vick on the sideline.

Vick knows his legacy and story will be written in Miami in February.
There was no need to risk further injury against an inferior opponent in the Niners, who also happen to share a color of the Communists.

In this extremely impressive season for the Eagles, they have beaten one team with a record over .500, which may change tonight if the Giants lose to the Redskins.

The Eagles can be anywhere from a 2 seed to a 6 in the span of two weeks. That's insane.
And while I am not saying they'll be NFC champs, I think they match up favorably against Minnesota. Which should lead to another NFC title game loss to a team that's never been to a SB.

Is it possible that the Eagles and Dallas may wind up playing each other on back-to-back weeks (last game of the season and then first game of the playoffs)? I was thinking about that weird scenario with Tampa Bay a few years ago and was wondering if it could happen again.

Not sure who's calling the season "extremely impressive", but you can't fault the Eagles for playing the teams on their schedule. Also, there are only 12 teams above 500 in the entire NFL right now. And only 5 with double digit wins.
The Eagles are hot now, and that counts for something. Regardless, I guess we'll learn a little more over the next 2 weeks.

"We don't need to throw snowballs," Eagles coach Andy Reid said. "We're a classy crew here in Philadelphia. Save that for the parking lots."
Which got me to thinking:
Who in the NFL currently is worth you taking a shot at with a snowball or three?
Other than Tom Coughlin or Moose Johnston, I can't think of anyone worthy right now

If Dallas and GB win out, Dallas wins the division and GB wins the #5 seed over Philly based on GB's tougher schedule. So yeah, if that happens, Philly would return to Dallas as the #6 seed for the WC. Arizona wouldn't be a worry, b/c GB would have had to have beaten them to win out, thus guaranteeing them the 4th seed.

In fact, GB would return to Arizona the following week if that scenario were to take place, so you'd have 2 WC games that were rematches from the week before. Crazy.

Zak, you'll have made your point if the Eagles trade away a bunch of picks for Larry Fitzgerald and then immediately deal away Desean Jackson in a salary dump...I mean to replenish their draft with picks of a significantly lesser value.
