Savage created controversy when he received an e-mail from a Browns fans during the Bills game, which read:[2]
You are easily the worst GM in the NFL. Chud, Crennel and Tucker should NOT have jobs. How the hell do you play prevent defense the entire game? How do you NOT use Jerome Harrison more? Why the hell would you throw the ball with 6 minutes left? This is officially a regime that is worse than Butch Davis'. By the way, just like last week - this email was written while the Browns still had the lead.
After the Browns held on to beat Buffalo, Savage promptly responded back to the fan with the following:
Go root for Buffalo-F#@* you-

I think the fans of Philadelphia would have more respect, and more patience, if the powers that be would actually SAY WHAT THAT ARE THINKING instead of playing politics.
A well placed, honest emotional "Go Eff Yourself" would be better received than the bullshit laced, I have to do a better job, smiley-faced head movement that has become so prevalent with this regime

Most of what Banner says is a thinly veiled "go fuck yourself", anyway.

Yeah- but that's the point.
Much like the "Three Amigos"- this town doesn't take kindly to "veils".

Well, he's a draft guy, not a GM, right? So we're never really going to hear anything from him.
Also, how did some fan get his email address? Anyone know where I can get Banner's? Maybe Spuds? I want to make someone cry after this craptastic end of a season.

Good article by Simmons on the "Most tortured fan bases." He ranks the Birds fans #12 and is dead on:
12. Philadelphia Eagles
Last Title: 1960.
Last Truly Devastating Defeat: 2008 NFC title game (to Arizona).
Rock Bottom: Donovan McNabb throwing up during the fourth quarter of Super Bowl XXXIX.
Mitigating Factor: The Phillies' 2008 title knocked the Eagles down a few spots. At least the people of Philly know God isn't against their city now. Or, they're reasonably sure.
Additional Thoughts: It's unclear whether Eagles fans could have a Level 1 loss at this point since they keep their guard up at all times. (I watched it firsthand in Jacksonville during Super Bowl XXXIX: As soon as things went wrong in the second quarter, they checked out.) Eagles fans are like those premade dinner bowls from Uncle Ben's or Healthy Choice -- just cut the top, microwave for three minutes and you have a bowl of bitter. Switch McNabb for Favre this past Sunday, and Eagles fans absolutely would have been waiting for that interception to be thrown. To rope them into a Level 1 loss would take a Herculean choke. Yo, click it

In case anyone was interested, there's tons of UFA's that could move to a new team this offseason. Not that I can see it happening, but I'd love a Merriman, Peppers or Seymour added to the passrush, huge talents with the presence and attitude to give the Defense some life.

Deja Vu? Eagles workout CFL defensive end...
"Foley is seen by personnel evaluators as an undersized edge rusher with decent speed, but has a good motor," Caplan wrote. "A source said his skills are a bit raw, but has enough talent to play in the NFL."

I can't tell if Julius Peppers is a spoiled bitch or batshit crazy:
"After being held to a career-low 2 1/2 sacks in 2007, the Panthers still offered to make Peppers the NFL’s highest-paid defensive player. Peppers on Tuesday provided conflicting reasons on why he rejected the contract.
“That deal was to make me the highest-paid defensive player, but slightly, very slightly,” Peppers said. “I didn’t really feel the sincerity behind that deal.”
But later in the rambling answer during the radio phone interview, Peppers also indicated he wasn’t worthy of such a deal.
“I had 2 1/2 sacks that season and they’re coming to offer me being the highest-paid defensive player. Like, I can’t even accept that,” Peppers said. “I’m not deserving of that.” link

I think Peppers essentially quits trying once he gets this deal. Depending on the team he goes to, I guess he could be re-energized, but I just get the feeling that his heart has never really been in it and the effort won't be there after he puts pen to paper on this one.

Antonio Pierce cut by the Giants. Rumor locally is that they are targeting Carlos Dansby of the Cardinals as his replacement.

Banner must be running mathematical equations to determine if a guy is willing to lie to protect you from the police, does that make him a player of high or low character?

Why did I click that?
If he comes back, they don't repeat the success they had. I doubt McNabb would get them that far, though.

Sorry bass, a few articles sourced that site, which Farve is quoted as having posted about. I'm seriously hoping it's not a repeat of next year, but the only thing Minnesota could do to be a bigger canival is sign TO to help out.
