Even if they did, Bass, he's started and played the majority of 13 games. Hard to believe that he'd drop below 70% of the snaps if Grossman finished the last 3.
I think it was an organic benching. Grossman doesn't deserve to start, obviously, but they couldn't take the drive killing worm burners anymore.

Its been a while since I blogged because I wanted to choose my words wisely. So all I can say is UGH!!!!!
So lets speak of good things. Like its December and that means Christmas time. I enjoy this Holiday Season, so I will think of good thoughts and the happy little smiles I will get from my grands when Santa comes to town.
Have a Very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!
Mama McNabb
Cant wait for the next entry...

Jason La Canfora of NFL.com hears that "guys in the locker room are extremely pissed" about Donovan McNabb being benched in favor of Rex Grossman.
La Canfora also says that some players believe McNabb has become the scapegoat for Kyle Shanahan.
This is fun.

Hey, he DID get them to a game-tying score last week, proving Shanny wrong (at least somewhat).
And no one in their right mind would say Grossman gives you a better chance at winning than the ol' Groundshaker over there.

It's definitely fun.
No matter what you think of McNabb or how he played, you can't argue Rex Grossman is a better option short or long term.
I could understand if they had a young guy like Colt McCoy and wanted to get him reps in a lost season, but Rex Grossman? NTFF!

And they went through all that trouble of the extension/financial apology.
I'd figure that alone would be reason enough to keep McNabb in the starting lineup, and it's not like he threw 5 INTs or gave up the GW fumble for a TD.
But Shanny also cut their punter after the FG kicker missed 2 FGs and an extra point (and it's not often I say this, but I'm thankful we have Hong Kong Fooey kicking the ball.....so hush Dino).
So anyway, I doubt Shanny's pushing the right buttons here.

Donnie's agent (this is the direct quote): "He has not been more disrepected his entire career than he has this season. It's absolutely ridiculous."

You know...as this has worn on, I'm starting to wonder if Shanahan is just stupid.
Some of the stuff he says is just so dumb and poorly thought out that it makes me question my notion that he gave people stupid answers because he just didn't feel the media deserved to know his true thoughts.
Today, for example, in an effort to protect his son from any potential blowback, he said he did not discuss the move with Kyle.
How in the hell could you bench the QB or choose a new QB without even consulting with your offensive coordinator?

And what Rex Grossman thread would be complete without this gem from 2006.
"Is that Berrian? I think he’s triple-covered. You know what? Fuck it. I’m throwing it downfield.
Yeah, I see Jones open on the flank. But fuck that. Dumpoff passes are for faggots. I’m fucking Sexy Rexy Grossman. I can get that ball in there. And, even if I can’t, I bet I’ll be able to pull it off the next go round. I like throwing the ball long. It makes my dick hard.
What’s that? I should throw a quick slant? Fuck that. That’s gay. Button hook? Gay. Flare out? Gay. Screen pass? Kevin Spacey gay. This is fucking football. You can’t just expect wins to come to you. You can’t massage that shit. You gotta grab that game by the throat and rape the ever-loving shit out of it. You think a 5-yard out is gonna win you a game? You’re a pussy. This ain’t John Shoop running this offense. Sexy Rexy’s got the arm. The dragon. You gotta unleash the dragon." link

He's lost it a bit I'd imagine. I mean, when was the last time he was a great coach with Denver? Yes, he won back to back Superbowls over a decade ago, but hasn't had a 10 win season since 2005. Moreso, in his 16 year career before this season, he has won his division (between the Rams and the Broncos) three times. THREE.
Yes, he caught lightning in a bottle back in the end of the 20th century. I'm starting to wonder if he ever was really that good or just happened to be coaching a great group of talent back then (including some very talented coordinators).

So McNabb's essentially been informed that his bonus won't be picked up and he'll be a free agent. (Adam Caplan)
How about McNabb as Vick's backup?

And what I mean by that is in an effort to protect his son, he said something so stupid that if it were to believed, you could have to assume his son is incompetent/worthless. And that's after days to think about the answer.

Yes, he won back to back Superbowls over a decade ago with John Elway at QB
There, fixed it. And he continues to think every QB should be another Elway.

I'm guessing Minny very quickly.
And yes Lyte (i think it was) I'd say it's obvious now that Shanny got lucky with a great group of guys. (sounds like a faggot to me)
