To add more to the "disrespect", McNabb jerseys at the official Redskins online store were 50% off, the same as Albert Haynesworth.

I thought making McNabb go out for the coin toss as a team captain was also quite embarrassing.

Shanahan has cut his nuts off.

In his first extensive comments since being benched as the Redskins’ quarterback, Donovan McNabb said he felt that coach Mike Shanahan had “disrespected” him. And yet McNabb said he’s still holding out hope that he’ll play for the Redskins in 2011.

“You do feel somewhat disrespected,” McNabb said on ESPN 980, adding that “Everything was handled awkwardly.”

But McNabb said he doesn’t think his relationship with Shanahan has been irreparably damaged. And he said he’s hoping that he’s playing for Shanahan as the Redskins’ starting quarterback next year.

“I definitely hope so, and I expressed that,” McNabb said. “I don’t want to go anywhere. I love the fans here in the Northern Virginia, D.C. area. I’ve enjoyed myself here. I think we can do some good things here. I thank the fans for all the support they’ve given me.”

McNabb also said he’s not sure whether Shanahan really wanted him in the first place, or whether it was Redskins owner Daniel Snyder who was behind the decision to trade for McNabb this offseason and then sign him to a contract extension during the season.

“That I don’t know,” McNabb said. “I haven’t heard from the owner, haven’t heard from the GM. I’ve talked to the janitor a couple times.”

Even before the benching, rumors had been circulating that the Redskins’ coaching staff wasn’t impressed with McNabb. McNabb said he has an idea where those rumors originated, but he declined to go into details.

“I know where some of this stuff is coming from,” McNabb said. “I’ll keep that to myself.”

Despite everything that’s happened, McNabb insists that he’d come back if the Redskins would have him back, saying, “I don’t believe in starting something and not finishing it.”

Same ol crap w/ that clown.

Dear Donovan:

If you know where the rumors are coming from then call them out. If you don't know, then say you don't and for God's Sakes, tell them you want the fuck out here and to be traded or released. Have some self respect and tell them all to fuck off.

Sincerely,
One pissed off Skins "fan"

What point does outing whomever the leak is make?

He's pretty much gone - he knows it's easier to stay with the team he's on than to try to find work elsewhere. He's an interesting case - he's not a journeyman that can teach a young QB (unless you're thinking Joe Webb, and really, why would you?), and he doesn't have it where he can take a team all the way by himself (and there aren't many teams that are a QB away).

He's pretty much stuck.

The point in outing the leak, to me, would be he's at least fighting back. The high road shit gets old/gotten old and I'd like to see him call the appropriate people out who need calling out. Starting with that rat shanny.

That's contrary to his character.

He gets grief from the masses for taking the high road (at least publically), but give him credit for at least sticking to his guns. And if he really doesn't want to test free agency, he can't be viewed as a deserter. Shoot, all comm majors know that.

Shanny's nonsense will expose itself. More and more he's looking like a smarmier Barry Switzer.

I mean, think about it - if you've been disrespected (and the contract itself was a sign of disrespect with the lack of job security), and you know there's a better suitor out there, why would you stay?

He knows the pickings are slim out there.

His ego will have to take a major hit when it comes time to sign a contract because his days of campaigning to be paid on a Brady/Manning level are way, wayyyyyyyyy behind him. If he tries to make that case after this season, he'll be laughed outta the room.

“I haven’t heard from the owner, haven’t heard from the GM. I’ve talked to the janitor a couple times.”

Gotta admit I laughed at that.

well, he already signed a pretty small contract, in that the team can get out of it pretty easily, so he's used to that (considering the "raise" the Eagles gave him, too)

Think they'd be more willing to go after Kolb?
