FWIW, it seems like he requested his release and the Vikes obliged. The obvious reason being the need for QBs on more than a few teams. Perhaps the league should consider moving back the trade deadline from a useless time of year (october) to 6 weeks later? Minny gets nothing for granting this request.

Reid must be laughing that they wasted that precious 6th round pick on a player that got cut before week 13.

He may get to fulfill his childhood dream of sucking in Chicago, though.
That made me chuckle.

McNabb was out of shape when he showed up and fell even more out of shape once he got benched. All a matter of who's desperate enough.
Guess they don't sell dog toys in Minnesota

With Vince Young suckin, does Fat Man try to annoy the fanbase further by bringing McFlab back as Vick's back-up? Ultimate discount/dented can.

Despite the McNabb Media Revival Tour(tm), no one claimed him.
Reason he asked for his released is because he got beat out on the QB chart by Joe Webb. Can't write this stuff.

“I thought the Bears would call,” McNabb said on ESPN 1000 in Chicago. “So many people continuously talked about the Mike Martz offense and things of that nature. I personally didn’t care about that. If you want to win and win now, you go out and get a better quarterback and you cater your offense to his strengths, and obviously the strengths of your team. Obviously it didn’t work out well for them. It’s unfortunate. I wish things would have worked out, but it didn’t. We will see what happens from now on.”
Self delusion is suicide.

Man, McNabb ain't bitter or anything:
“We talk so much about Mike Shanahan and the things he was able to do in Denver,” McNabb said. “Well, I have a couple of names for you that Mike Shanahan — quarterbacks he’s coached — and the lack of success that he’s had.”
At that point, McNabb ran down the last decade of quarterbacks Shanahan has coached (although McNabb curiously excluded himself from the list) and proceeded to suggest that the win-loss record proves Shanahan had failed with all of them.
“We had John Beck, who was 0-4,” McNabb said. “Rex Grossman: 6-11. Jay Cutler, who was his prize possession: 17-20. Jake Plummer, a guy who had success, led them to the AFC Championship against Pittsburgh, as we know, and then benched him the next year, because he wouldn’t do what he wanted him to do. Brian Griese, who was supposed to be the heir apparent to John Elway, hasn’t had a lot of success.”
McNabb then suggested that if Shanahan can’t make the offense work with Griffin, Shanahan could be fired at the end of the season.
“I don’t think it’s a good fit,” McNabb said. “If this doesn’t work this year, if we don’t see a splash like a Cam Newton splash, this could be it. . . . How long does he have with RG3? The seat is hot right now.”
McNabb compared his own talents to Griffin’s talents, and McNabb indicated that Shanahan doesn’t know how to use a quarterback with those talents.
“I was misused,” McNabb said. “Absolutely, I was misused.”
Question: How WOULD one use McNabb? Aside from the guy most likely to throw you under a bus?

Wow. I wonder what he thinks Frazier did with him. What an asshole. Seriously....wasn't he criticized for being last in first out to practice in MN?

Some folks just don't know when to STFU.
He should go back and watch game film when he was with the skins. He stunk on ice.
The Eagles fleeced the skins on that deal.

Oh, McNabb....please shut up.
Although.....if this is an indication of what his "communications" degree will bring....then by all means, keep puttin' yo' foot in yo' mouth (along with your name):
Former Eagles, Redskins and Vikings quarterback Donovan McNabb made another appearance on ESPN First Take on Friday, and just as he did on Thursday by questioning whether Robert Griffin III can fit with the Redskins, McNabb made a comment that will surely raise eyebrows.
This time, McNabb proclaimed himself the most unfairly maligned quarterback in NFL history, saying that no other passer has ever had to deal with the same stuff that he has.
It started with McNabb criticizing Tim Tebow and First Take provocateur Skip Bayless stepping in to say Tebow receives more criticism than he deserves.
“Tim Tebow,” Bayless said, “is the most unfairly, over-criticized quarterback in the history of this league.”
With that, McNabb interjected, “Negative — I am.”
“I am,” McNabb continued. “Nobody has been criticized as much as I have.”

I'm embarrassed for him. He had a good career that was tumultuous. But, this is a shameful way to see it end.

I don't get it, McNabb was a class act all throughout his career. And now he's making stupid remarks like this. The guy made a lot of money throughout his career. Including $4 Million last year for doing very little. What's he got to prove?

I agree that he was among the most unfairly criticized players in my lifetime, but he's accomplishing nothing by whining about it now.
The fact is, one of the biggest criticisms about him that was mostly fair was his thin skin and annoying personality...which is on display right now.

Every time he says something like this, I can't get over the fact that he was a Communications major at Syracuse. Didn't this guy ever take a class in public relations?
At this point, is there anyone alive who genuinely likes Donovan McNabb, aside from his parents?
I'm calling a "doubtful" on his wife and kids. I know Fletcher Smith has got to be sick of defending him at every turn, especially since he isn't going to make much money anymore.

No chance...won't be considered and won't garner a single vote. He had to do more stat compiling or win a championship. Instead, he peaked at 28, imploded at 33, and is out of the league at 35.

If he'd retired earlier, he would have had a better shot (it still would've been a long shot, but he at least would be considered), but these last couple of embarrassingly awful seasons have really tarnished his image. I think the media solely views his success as the product of Reid's system and nothing more.
