Has Shanahan been satisfied with any QB he has had since Elway?

How about this scenario? Shanahanahan, after 7+ months realizes that he's stuck with an inaccurate QB but doesn't want to come right out and say they screwed the pooch on the trade.

How do you get a long term player and not know exactly what you are getting?

MAN... You guys are rough on a guy that has done alot for the Birds. I was pissed when they made the trade but after watching him with the Skins I understand the move but at the same time look at his record and what he has done and you have to respect that! He did'nt give us what we wanted but we could also have been stuck with someone like Romo!! Who should they pay now Vick or Kolb?????

Seriously how is that being rough on McRib? He's been a iconic figure in the NFL for about a decade, has played in the Superbowl and many Probowls. He's been on countless national spotlight games over his career. There's weeks worth of game footage for any coach to review and determine the strengths and weaknesses he has.
Arguing that McRib can be injury prone, is inaccurate and can play unfocused shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, especially someone coaching as long as Shanahan. If he thought that was going to be the long term answer in DC, he's a lot dumber than I thought he was.

IMO, he traded for McNabb because he was the best solution available at QB, and that maybe he would channel that energy into 2 wins over his former team.
I have to believe he knew what he was getting into, which makes the leaks that much more suspicious. I think he's trying to motivate McNabb the same way McNabb was benched 2 years ago when his play was just horrible. I also think Shanny's more of an egomaniac riding success from early on and not as good as he's been portrayed. And McNabb needs to be reminded that he needs a great 2nd half if he's to get the last big contract of his career, a la Vick.
Remember, last year, the Redskins were a team that had a lame duck coach and problems at the QB position. A couple of those games they win if they had better QB play, and they at least look better than last year.
This was a quick way to shore up at least one of those positions (even if it costs them a 2nd round and later pick) until Shanny can get someone he really wants in there and if it isn't McNabb, it'll be some other reclamation project, IMO). Let's remember, he took a chance on Jake Plummer and did well before everyone remembered that he was Jake Plummer.

I seem to remember there being a game on Monday, and I'm wondering what happened to those prediction threads, but then realized it's McNabb week #2 and was wondering what happened to the hype? Did someone replace everyone with vaginas?

MNF Prediction Threads get made on Fridays.
And yes, there isn't as much juice in this game - and I don't know why.
Or maybe I'm just numb to it all.

Keep hearing that the guarantees are for about $10 mil, not the $40 mil that was first reported.
That makes the deal a bit easier to grasp, but he'll be out of there in 2-3 years, tops.

Here's the contract breakdown, and it's A LOT less than first reported.
In fact, this wasn't a bad move, actually:
Boiled down, the deal's real guarantee is $3.5 million, though if McNabb suffered a catastrophic injury this season and never played again, he would receive $25 more million.
Here is how the rest of the full deal breaks down, according to an NFLPA source:
• 2010: $3.5 million signing bonus/$250,000 if active eight games
• 2011: $10 million option bonus/$2.5 million salary/$750,000 if active 16 games/$250,000 workout/$2 million possible playoff incentives
• 2012: $12.75 million salary/$750,000 if active 16 games/$250,000 workout/$2 million possible playoff incentives
• 2013: $13 million salary/$1.5 million if active 16 games/$250,000 workout/$2 million possible playoff incentives
• 2014: $13.75 million salary/$3 million if active 16 games/$250,000 workout/$2 million possible playoff incentives
• 2015: $13.55 million salary/$2.25 million if active 16 games/$250,000 workout/$2 million possible playoff incentives
Yo, click it

How about T.O. makes this point for a change "I'm not 4 years old".
He's been jealous of McNabb his entire career.

Or he thought McNabb could do something for him and found out he was a phony.
I'd have to think he thought it was pretty incredible that he comes back from a broken leg and has a comeback game for the ages in the Super Bowl while his QB starts choking at the critical juncture.

Again, TO has a point. Joe Montana gets a new deal and throws 4 TDs. McNabb gets a new deal (plus was crapped on by the media and his HC for two weeks) and has such a below average game it made people wonder if Spergeon Wynn was still available (only because he has a cool QB name).
I see nothing wrong with what TO did. And he is being pretty good even though he could throw Palmer under a fleet of buses and no one would blame him.
