"I have nothing but love for the Philly fans, even the ones who were highly criticizing me or opinionated in any way"
Looks like Week 3 is going to be a big deal. Thank Science it's on a Thursday night on the NFL network. link

Saw that Cataldi was attempting to start a WIP-fueled "boo him one last time" thing and was talking about "closing the circle" between draft day and his retirement ceremony.
This from the guy who very publicly stated that the booing thing was for the pick, not the player, not to mention that he was falling over himself the week leading up to the SB claiming that the whole Dirty 30 thing was a huge mistake that he hoped he could live down.
effin tool.

And then Cataldi supposedly backed off what he said and claimed he was only joking, despite bringing it up repeatedly throughout the show.
And then Cataldi backed off the backing off, saying, "I prefer to remain mysterious."
I think Cataldi might be genuinely scared of his inability to criticize Chip Kelly. His two favorite whipping boys are gone, and I wouldn't be surprised if his ratings follow.

It's hilarious and ironic that Cataldi seemingly harps on McNabb for his inability to let go, and here he is, trying to drum up support to a dying listener base so they can not let go of McNabb. I mean, didn't he try something stupid (way for me to go out on a limb there) when McNabb came back as a Redskin, only to have the majority of fans politely applaud McNabb for his years of service?
There's a Batman/Joker-type corollary here somewhere

Agreed. Here's hoping that they get very warm welcome and McNabb can put to rest his resentment.

If that guy had one...just one WR who could get actual separation in '01 or '02, and perhaps a little more balance to the offensive gameplan, I think that you wouldn't have that space still empty on the trophy shelf.
I never really cared that much about what he said or didn't say to the press, if he had a chip on his shoulder or what his mom felt...the guy was one of the, if not THE reason why the franchise was at the doorstep for the better part of a decade. God knows he had his shortcomings, and they played into his unraveling as a player and personality in this town, but I can't sit back and say that he was a failure in his time here. I can't say that as much as I can't say that other franchise QBs who didn't bring it home were failures either. The reality is that guys like him didn't have it fall into place the way that others did, and that became more of the story than anything else.
I can't color all those years with that broad of a stroke...too many good memories and good times for me to let that happen. Glad that he decided to do it, and the game with AR back in the house is the proper time. Put a ceremonial end to that chapter and turn the page.

Agreed, Hook. Anyone who says 5 was a failure here is a lying fool. There's a lot of space between "GOAT" and "Spergeon Wynn".
Personally, I prefer Cunningham (and I'd have to wonder how much more successful he'd be, with an offensive coach and a division that didn't yield half of the SB winners during his career), but to say McNabb doesn't deserve accolades for what he did do (only focusing on his personality flaws and his coming up short in certain situations) is being disingenuous and ignores the fact that, for a time, he was considered up there with Manning/Brady

I was recently reflecting that that Bucs actually have a 'Golden Age' to fondly look back on and be proud of a defense with some stars, a reason to retire a jersey or two, etc.
Similarly, I'm happy the Eagles have their own AR+5 time to look back on and feel again the hate from other fans.
