I didn't know where to put this, so I'm starting a thread where things that players, team officials or anyone related with the league, says via any one of the social media outlets, or just in an interview that are remotely interesting.
We could have had one of these several times with McNabb over the years, and I remember Rex Ryan getting some play in this area over the past 2 seasons, usually merged within a large generic NFL thread.
While Umenyiora believes he belongs among the NFL's top-paid defensive ends, not all NFL players share his opinion.
On his Twitter account, Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy wrote: "Overrated n soft 3rd best d-line on his team honestly" as he retweeted this story to his followers on the social media network.

Between Tuck, Kiwanuka and Pierre-Paul, I kinda agree with Shady.

so to keep things in the proper thread, here's the Osi rebuttal to McCoy's Tweet from a couple days ago, callin Osi soft and overrated...
Umenyiora responded Friday through Mark Viera of the New York Times, calling McCoy a “Chihuahua” and “Lady GaGa.”
“She can say whatever he wants about it,” Umeyiora says.
Great comebacks, fwiw.

does anyone else think that this whole thing feels a little like WWF guys sounding off to Mean Gene? Yes, I know I'm dating myself there....
It seems more like a PR joust than anything real, especially at this time of year and under the current conditions.
BTW, what was said was prolly true, and the rebuttal was totally appropriate.

Wouldn't it be great if Osi ended up getting moved to Philly? I mean, he is a pretty darn good fastball.

The jabs continued Saturday as Giants wide receiver Steve Smith issued a reminder to LeSean McCoy.
On his Twitter account, Smith posted the following message with a link to the photo you see to the left (BELOW):
"The nerve of certain youngins running their mouth. Please don't forget"
He later added:
"Eagles have a great team as do we. They've had our number lately but until you win something major I don't wanna hear it." #endthelockout

"I know I'm going to be successful as a football player. I don't know why. The odds say 'No.' I'm 36 and I haven't played in four years. But I just know."
Tiki on his return.
Odds that he doesn't even make a regular season roster?

I read and re-read that article. Interesting stuff on the surface, but part of me thinks he needs some fast cash.
There's just something odd about a guy who almost seems to advertise his problems with depression. Doesn't compute.

“I think we were drafted in the same class, right? Is he a 2000 guy? I haven’t heard anything about [Dhani Jones] since then,” Urlacher said. “I saw him on a TV show with a bow-tie on though. So I know him better for how the way he dresses than what he does on a football field.
- Brian Urlacher ripping Air Banjo when Banji listed his 10 best LBs playing now and Urlacher wasn't on the list, while he placed himself at #7.

I just think it's funny he included himself on the list and not in a "wink, nod" way like listing himself #1 or #10, but at #7, like he thought hard about everything and felt he wasn't quite as good as #6, but had outperformed #8.

Giants defensive end Justin Tuck says his biggest problem with it all is that McCoy wrote something on Twitter that Tuck doesn’t think he’d say to Umenyiora’s face. And Tuck says that’s a problem that extends far beyond just the McCoy-Umenyiora feud.
“I honestly think social media has made people cowards,” Tuck said on Mike and Mike in the Morning, via Philly.com. “Where I’m from, if you had a problem with somebody, you said it to their face and that was it. I think now people are hiding behind computers and smartphones to get out something they got on their chest.”
Tuck also thinks the substance of McCoy’s statement was untrue, and he said he and his teammates took offense.
“Yes, we will take that personally,” Tuck said. “He might want to watch some film before he starts talking about a defensive end of Osi’s quality. I don’t know where he would say something of that nature because obviously I think Osi’s stats back up the fact that he’s a pretty good NFL football player.”
And if Umenyiora is soft, Tuck thinks McCoy should prove that face-to-face on the football field, not tweet about it.

I gotta agree with Tuck there, though in Shady's case he should be saying it from the endzone.

Wasn't sure where to put this one, but I liked how it brought some idea on what the defensive philosophy will look like, in the cover of the Ike rumors (and why the team is interested in him). "Wide 9" kind of sounds interesting but I'm curious how it translates to rushing plays.

Ike is a solid CB who sometimes gets burnt, but more often than not you don't hear his name called, which means he's doing his job.
I'd have no problem at all seeing how he does here for the right price

“Or hand the ball off and stop trying to act like Peyton Manning. You ain’t that and you know it, man; you just get paid like he does.”

Big Ben just needs to take his man out clubbing and have Hines Ward drive him home.

He also needs to explain to Harrison that "clubbing" in one way means physically "knocking girls out". Ben has chemical solutions as a means to that end. A gentleman's form of sexual assault.
