Most of it wasn't that bad, IMO, but talking about taking out specific ligaments was over the top.
The NFL will be concerned about all the talk of the head, or what doctors call the "lawsuit bone".
I couldn't tell if he was talking about taking out the head in the sense of the "leader" or attacking the human head to take out the player, though. It was a bit confusing with the editing.

I didn't think it was that bad, either, but the NFL is supposed to be more "safety conscious", so any talk of inflicting any type of injury (especially when they talked about the concussion) doesn't look good for them, at any rate.
TBF, stuff like this does get talked about around the locker room, but the people who hear this who DON'T know what goes on in a locker room might be all "oh crap! what bad people!", and those are the fans the NFL is trying to change their perception of, IMO.

And, if anything, we have to reiterate that it wasn't JUST the bounty program that got Williams SOON-TO-BE-LIFETIME-BAN'D - it was the fact that he lied to Goddell about it, IMO.

I'd be kind of surprised if he got a lifetime ban. Maybe he will, but it seems too steep, imo.

Listening to that audio, you might assume his defense was known for something other than being "terrible at football".
