Nearly every single pundit, columnist, and analyst has the Eagles selecting Boston College's Luke Kuechly in the first round. Thus, there's absolutely no shot this happens, right? I mean, Reid can't do whatever everyone expects him to do. It's not the Eagle way.

The wildcard here is that Kuechly is white and doesn't look very big. The fact that he's two inches taller than Casey Mathews but weighs only three pounds more has to be alluring to the Eagles front office. Can they possibly resist the allure of watching Kuechly get pushed around the field?

"I know they run the wide-nine. That's about all I know. That's what they're still running, right?" Kuechly asked.

I don't know anything about him, but I know he's been a popular choice for the Eagles in mock drafts. He sounds like a not-that-athletic, kind of lanky, "sure tackler".

Vontaze Burfict from ASU would be my pick from the linebacker crop.

He looks a lot like Trotter to me, too. It seems like the draftniks think he's one of those guys who is going to go much higher than his production dictates based on how they think he'll test at the combine.

My bet is they trade the first and 2 seconds to move up and get RG3. Then they will be totally surprised to see he gets McNabb'ed when he comes up to the podium.

why would you want a player with as much on-field bullshit at vontaze? he's a penalty machine. also says he's not great at shedding blockers (awesome!) and would be best fit in a 3-4 scheme were he'd encounter fewer blockers.

Yeah, I'm not sold on Burfict based on what I've read and heard. He seems like the kind of guy who may need strong leadership and coaching to pay off and the Eagles defense has terrible leadership/inexperienced coaching. Seems like a recipe for disaster.

I may not have wanted a player to fall to the Lions as much as Burfict in years. Not that players have had to "fall" very far for them in the last 10 years.

If they keep Chaney in the middle I think they should angle for Zach Brown to play the weakside.

From what I've looked at online there seems to be some talent at offensive tackle in the 2nd round if theay are looking at moving Herremans back.

It wouldn't surprise me if they tried to move Herremans back, but I have no clue why they would and I hope they don't.

I think he played pretty well at RT and should only get better as he gets more comfortable. Let's not forget he did not prepare to play RT and was switched there midway through his 3 week off-season.

If they can't come to terms with Mathis at LG, I think they can figure something out at LG and LG is a heck of a lot easier to fill than RT.

I actually thought he was rising...many of the mocks had him as a second round pick earlier this year and now I've seen him in the first round more and more.

Most of the stuff I read seems to indicate he's a top 20 prospect on talent who probably shouldn't go in the first round based on everything else.

I saw one mock projecting him to go to the Ravens, which would make some sense.

So the LB choices are either the Mamula version of LB's (also from BC) or a physical talent that can't shed blockers, free lance, but is highly undisciplined and a terrible character guy. That totally sucks.

I like Tulloch if he's available.
