My money league allows you to keep one player for the following season. After that season, you have to release the player into the pool and choose another player as a keeper.

My roster is evenly balanaced without a real standout (at least last year) aside from Drew Brees, who I would not waste a keeper pick on. Here are my candidates:

Antonio Gates
Jamal Lewis
Steven Jackson
Dominick Davis

I'm pretty much ruling out Gates because he's a TE.

I'm a little negative toward Lewis because of his injury history/knack for getting busted in drug deals. Also, his production has gone down a bit.

In my mind, Steven Jackson has tremendous upside and could have a very big year. Yes, he has the ghost of Marshall Faulk behind him, and with a little injury question, I'm leery of making a reach and taking him. He's the risky pick but has big payoff potential.

Dominick Davis is very dependable. He catches a lot of passes, and that's how he typically finds the end zone. However, he's not a bash-it-in-there goalline back, and he's struggled from close yardage in the preseason. Also, Houston has tended to give his carries to other players in the past, and that ain't good.

Every magazine is picking Davis to have a huge year, but I'm not certain of that. I'm leaning his way, but I have a desire to roll the dice on Jackson. Of course, I think there's a real possibility that Jackson will still be around when I draft at the end of round one/beginning of round two.

Any thoughts?

Do you get 1 point per catch?

Keep Jackon if you want my opinion. RB's are at a premium and I think its easier to get TE's. Isn't Lewis suppose to miss games in the beginning of the year because of his drug bust thing? I have strange feeling that Davis will not have as good a year as last year. Just a strange feeling. Take it for what its worth. They plan on using Jackson a lot this year and I think he will be one of the sleepers.

No points per catch but you get 1 point for every 10 yards receiving or rushing.

Well, I rolled the dice and went with Jackson. The Rams look like they once again have the league's most dominant offense, and I think Jackson might be a terror.

Jamal Lewis was a major disappointment last year, and I wasn't crazy about his recent injury history. Kyle Boller looks like he still sucks, so teams will certainly stack the box against Lewis.

Dominick Davis should have a very good year, especially on the receiving end. However, I have doubts about his ability at the goalline, and Carr has been less than impressive this pre-season.

Despite his low-ranking by the idiotic fantasy magazines (one ranked Drew Bennett as the #1 WR!), I knew Jackson wouldn't be around when I picked at the end of round one, so I had little choice but to keep him.

Well, I am guessing that you found that decision and/or post a bit easier after last night's game. I like the decision though I think DD could put up similar numbers. As for the Ram's offense, I agree that they looked great and as a fellow fantasy owner with a Multi-league interest in it I was impressed, but I always look back in October and tend to laugh at some of the impressions I cemented in my head in the preseason and vow not to do it again. Of course, this is coming from a Lions fan. So let's hope the Rams performance was the real deal and that the Lions wasn't. If that's possible...

I was actually in class while the game was on, but a fellow league member had called and left a voicemail asking if I had seen Jackson's last carry. Honestly, that probably made the decision for me.

If I'm going to decide between Houston's offense or St. Louis' offense, I'm picking St. Louis because they have a proven track record of success and have retained their vital offensive personnel.
