Fantasy football is Dungeons and Dragons for the guys who used to beat up the Dungeons and Dragons kids.

I'm in. Usually Johnson sets up the league.

I did a different kind of league last year. I set up an All Defense league.

Essentially, you draft nothing but defensive players. You set up a defense (3-4, or 4-3), keeping player position integrity (2 cornerbacks, 2 safeties and not four cornerbacks), and only get points for typical defensive plays.

Scoring goes for sacks, interceptions, fumbles forced, fumbles recovered, TDs. Tackles are up in the air, because they can be tweaked by the teams. Denver, for example, always overcounts tackles made by their players.

Anyway, it requires folks who really know team rosters and can be counted on to made a starting defense with position integrity.

It was a nice twist, though. I've set one up for my family and friends already.

McNabb read the script for that type of league and didn't like it.

You have to pass by the thorns to get to the rose. So when you prick yourself, remember, you are on the path to fragrance and beauty.

AE, that league sounds pretty boring.

No offense. just speaking my mind.

Pun intended.

How is it any different than an offense-based FF league?

You scout the players, draft them, bench or start, earn points, and win matchups.

The only difference is you'll have to be a better student of the game.

I'm in for the Level League.

I'd prefer a typical offense-dominated league that speaks to our core values, but I would consider this radical, left-wing extremist experiment that is being proposed by the Department of Defense.

Because you can't bet on defenses and it doesn't feature Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, or Marvin Harrison.

Maybe it's because I'm in one (1) fantasy league and that's only to keep in touch with chums from my undergrad days.

Not a big fan of Fantasy leagues.

No problem...

AE has pretty much set them up the past two years.

I could set one up if he's not up to it or if he wants to do that defense league.

I am interested if the draft is online (auto draft or live draft). Don't think I could make a draft event from all the way accross the country.

The usual trashtalking, midweek Hulk reviews, and bitching about head-to-head scoring is applicable.
