You love it, you hate it.......

700 Level FFL Recap 06' Edition

Week 1 (A New Beginning):

Stud Player(s) of the Week- D Mcnabb 28 pts (Mcnabb shows that he has recovered from his sports hernia with a 300 yd 3TD day. He also managed to take off and run for 7 yds. Even NEAG couldnt hate on that Bradyesque performance.)

Honorable mentions- K. Warner 28 pts (Bible Boy shows he can sling it with best of them as he throws for 300 yds and 3 TD's againest SF. )

Dud Player of the Week- J. Plummer -3 pts(The Snake lobbed up 3 INT's and had one lost fumble in a embarrasing loss to a rookie head coach in STL. Chants of "Bring in Cutler!" echo in Jakes ears at night)

Dishonorable Mention- TB Def 1 pt( The once vaunted Super Bowl caliber D was picked apart and ran all over by the revamped "O" of the Baltimore Ravens. Steve Mcnair might be the comeback player of the year.)

A.W.O.T.W- Hellertown Holla 48 pts (Uber shows Johnson whose boss after a near 50 point ass whipping. 5 players in double digit points was too much for the HH crew overcome. The only Hollaring that was done was for mercy.)

Dishonorable mention-
LV Green Chickens 47 pts (LVEagle was introduced to league in 700 Level fashion-complete and utter humilation by the Hulksters. Welcome aboard buddy!!)

Waiver Wire Gems of the Week- S Mcnair 13 pts (He wont exactly wow you with his stat lines each week but he will consistently give you 10-13 which is nothing to sneeze at. Plus with the lack of quality starting QB's out there, Beggars can't be Choosers. So chose wisely )

Honorable mention-K Winslow 12 pts (Uber adds another TE to his already impressive arsenal of players.)

Waiver Wire Pieces of Coal- C Henry 0 pts
(The only thing Henry has been able to catch lately are some charges. The troubled WR whose already plead guilty to gun possesion and about to face a DUI case had one catch for -5 yards. With T.J Houszurmama out with foot problems and all the coverage rolled toward C Johnson conventional wisdom said that Henry should have a big day. But he came up with a big "0")

"Ha ha ha 0-1"- Gints, Cowgirls and Foreskins lose. *sniff sniff teardrop*

Sage advice- If you lose by 5 or less points due to not looking at injury reports shame on you.

Quote of the week-"Week 1 will be "All too easy"- Birddroppings Record 0-1

I was aware of the Housh injury, I just forgot I had him on this team. That loss goes on me. I need to put my guys in better position to make plays.

CGADS gracefully accepts the win, regardless of GGB's lapse of judgement.

My final thoughts on Sundays tend to run in descending order of League entry fees. So I will occasionally get burned with Gametime decisions in this league. I was well aware of Housh's situation, should not have even had him in there once he hit GTD status.

Elapsed time between Hulk's review and Glenn's Fred_Barnett-style sandbagging: 3 hours and 43 minutes

Probably not. But whatever you did, it was exactly what F_B did yesterday.

It was a word I'd heard when I was running track when guys used to talk about how they were injured before a race so that they wouldn't look so bad if they lost. Just poking some fun, is all.

Right, it's used in golf for someone that intentionally keeps their handicap higher than it ought to be, for purposes of rolling out their true game when it counts most. Which is why I was confused. Almost every other league of mine has ways to make last-minute changes to your lineup from a remote site (Read: Bar or Tailgate). This one does not and I can occasionally get burned by it. But in this case I never should have had Housh in there.

In all fairness I never "outed" you by name GGB. I know with last years recaps I was bashing you every week. I made consciencious (sp?) effort to not do that this go around. In all honestly I didnt realize that was you since you didnt name your team something like Detroit Lappies, Rumplemintz Raiders or Maize Front Runners.

If he had named his team the Delaware Rumbleboys, he would have gotten a free pass for the season.

What, you didn't get the sign up page for Yahoo! Thought! yet?

Everytime I accidenatlly see a headline about Tom Cruise's baby, a fresh case of eye daggers shows up automatically at my house the next day.

I would like to apologize for my part in the delay of the Hulk Report. It seems that the Chickens, in their efforts to take a crap on the virtual field of play, inadvertantly created a situation where the Hulksters foot was lodged in their backside and caused some delay. The Chickens have revised their methods by abandoning the "Golden Brown Standard", and will resist browning anyones toes in the future.

700 Level FFL Recap 06' Edition

Week 2 (Better Late than Never Edition):

Stud Player(s) of the Week- R Grossman 35 pts (Yup. Don't rub your eyes because you are reading correctly. 289 yds 4 touches down and NO INT. Johnson must be kicking himself for not picking him up sooner.)

Honorable mentions- P. Manning 34 pts (I am not sure which is worst, picking up a guy on his best day AFTER he's played or playing a guy on his best day and still losing. Well you can ask the resident 0-2 teams which it is since Glenn got the pleasure of feeling the latter.)

Dud Player of the Week- T. Gonzalez 0 pts(A top flight TE in the league could not muster up even 1 point for Uber and his brothers.)

Dishonorable Mention- T.Owens a.k.a "The Player" 1 pt(Biking helmets, super sets of dumb bell press couldnt help T.O from busting up his finger and getting a whopping 1 point)

A.W.O.T.W- The Ubie Brothers 34 pts (If there was a Triple Crown for Loserdom Uber would win it this week. Instead he gets what will now be referred to as "The Paddle" award for the thorough ass whippin he received from Birddroppings' Darksiders.)

Dishonorable mention-
Hellertown Holla 33 pts (The Big Green Homer Machines hands out another huge loss to good friend.)

Waiver Wire Gems of the Week- V Davis (Even with the busted shin Davis will be a huge pick up in weeks to come and might even pay immediate dividends for the winless Rumble Boys.)

Honorable mention-Buf D 12 pts (LV Chickens pick up the suprisingly stout D that should help down the road.)

Waiver Wire Pieces of Coal- No real pick ups that were played.

"Rebound"- I still dont think I can get over the Birds blowing a 17 point lead last week. Lets hope they can snap out of it againest what on paper should be a weaker opponent

Sage advice #2- If you lose two weeks in a row due to not looking at injury reports shame on you.

"We Are Brutal" Penn Staters were looking mighty blue y-day. Even Joe Pa had to puke at seeing the performance of his QB throw up two lame ducks of his own.

700 Level FFL Recap 06'

Week 3 (Revenge is a Dish...):

Stud Player(s) of the Week- M Hasselbeck 33 pts (The Seahawks helped avenge the 4th quarter collapse of the Eagles from a week previous and Hasselbeck helps Uber avenge the berating he received from yours truly.)

Honorable mentions- B. Westbrook 33 pts (B-West did it all last week and thankfully for Glen he played him. The big day from 36 helped the Rumbleboys break the 0-2 snide.)

Dud Player of the Week- C Johnson 1 pts(While the rest of his team was racking up points the flamboyant WR could only put up a one spot.)

Dishonorable Mention- C Dillon 1 pt(Denver just has NE's number and because of that Dillons output for the day was uno.)

A.W.O.T.W- NovaEagles 44 pts (Nova won't be able to sit for a week after the complete ass whuppin he received from GGB's Rumbleboys.)

Dishonorable mention-
Brickhouses 26 pts (Hooky got a few chips in the ol brickwork this week after LV hands him his first loss and keeping him from first place.)

Waiver Wire Gems of the Week- E Johnson (With Vernon Davis out and fumbling ol reliable E. Johnson will be a target for Alex Smith out in S.F )

Honorable mention-M Morris (The gods were smiling on NYC when he was able to get S. Alexanders back up after the bad news of a busted foot on the Madden cover boy.)

Waiver Wire Pieces of Coal- J Cotchery 3 pts (The Hulksters dropped C Henry who caught two TD's for Cotchery who was appearing to be Penningtons go to guy for a couple weeks.

"Madden Curse"- Ray Lewis, D Mcnabb, Marshall Faulk, M Vick.....S Alexander. I usually don't believe in this stuff but you gotta think twice about drafting a player on the cover going forward.

"Tight Race" 6 teams with winning records and all within shouting distance of each other in the points race. Who will edge out and stay on top?

700 Level FFL Recap 06'

Week 4 (Monday Night Madness...):

Stud Player(s) of the Week- D Mcnabb 37 pts (After a slow start Donnie Mac uses his legs and then his arm to pick apart the GB defense-mostly former 1st rd pick Ahmad Carrol. Two rushing TD's and two throwing td's later he is the player of the week.)

Honorable mentions- M. Bulger 33 pts (In a suprising shootout between the Detroit Pussycats and the Lambs, Bulger flings for over 300 yds and 3 tds in a big win.)

Dud Player of the Week- Seattle D -3 pts(Seattle got dominated on both sides of the ball but the Seahawks could not stop the rushing or passing attack of the undefeated Bears.)

Dishonorable Mention- K Warner 1 pt (Under 150 yds passing, a fumble and INT and it draws closer to the Matt Leinart era to begin.)

A.W.O.T.W- Darksiders 29 pts (The Championship hangover holds true as last years FFL champion takes a double digit beatdown at the hands of the Big Green Homer Machine.)

Dishonorable mention-
Brickhouses 26 pts (Its deja vu as Johnson gives his Level partner Hooky another 26 pt battering with his Hellertown Holla wrecking ball.)

Waiver Wire Gems of the Week- M Brunnell 29 pts (The 3-1 Coffins help themselves by dumping Culpepper who has been brutal and add a viable option at QB.)

Honorable mention- N.O Defense (Uber picks up the suprising Def of N.O that has been playing well)

Waiver Wire Pieces of Coal- J Gilmore 0 pts (The Hulksters need to stay off the waiver wire as they have picked up coal a couple weeks in a row.)

"OD...OD, OD, OD"- T.O and his three ring circus come to town for the biggest game of the year.

"Streakers" Can the Marching Coffins and LV Chickens keep their 3 game winning streaks going?
