"The League is shet"
QB Tom Brady
RB Tiki Barber
RB Brian Westbrook
WR/RB Javon Walker
WR Anquan Boldin
WR Plaxico Burress
TE Dallas Clark
K Neil Rackers
D Bears
BENCH
RB Mike Bell
RB Laurence Maroney
WR Joey Galloway
WR Drew Bennett
QB Jon Kitna
RB Brandon Jacobs
---------------
This is my team, I made a trade and got Joey Galloway and Javon Walker for my starting TE and a starting caliber QB.
Now, I have crap at TE. I am going to try and move Plaxico, Galloway or J-walk for a Top TE. There's a few guys that have two tier-1 TEs.
Who should it be? - should I make offers now or wait a few weeks? Will another TE emerge (like Leonard Pope) or something?

You might as well wait it out. Three or four lesser TEs have above-average point every week, and a few of them string it along into a solid month.
I wouldn't trade value for a TE that wasn't in the top two or three. Just be quick to the waiver wire when someone in a TE tandum gets hurt and leaves the fulltime job for the other guy.

I agree...
There are also a LOT of TEs in the league now and some couple break out so I don't think there's a need to push a trade.
I also have the need for some fantasy advice this week if anyone has any input...
I have Ronnie Brown starting against the Steelers. I have Thomas Jones on the bench starting against the Packers this week.
I know Brown is supposed to be a stud this year, but in looking at the matchup, I'm not sure what to do here. Thomas Jones is no slouch and Green Bay might have the worst defense in football.
Anyone have any thoughts?

I also have Jones on the bench this week.
Starting ahead of him I have Cadillac vs. the Ravens, and Westbrook.
Do I sit Cadillac, my first round pick?
Whatever decision I make will be the wrong one.

Tough call on starting Jones over Cadillac. You know TB's offense will go straight through Cadillac, so it's tough to ever sit him on the bench.
As for Jones vs. Brown, I would lead more toward Jones, although I think the Steelers have a bad history against Miami in primetime. (Maybe I'm just thinking about that one MNF game in college where they got blown out and by halftime, and the 20+ people in my place became so apathetic that there was a giant cloud of opium and weed lingering throughout my apartment. The rednecks who lived upstairs used to throw furniture when the Steelers lost, and there was a lot of re-decorating going on that night. The evening culminated when one of them came to my door with a loaded shotgun. Fun.)
Anyway, I think Miami's offense will struggle tonight. I'm benching Culpepper in favor of Plummer vs. St. Louis. Starting Brown is not a bad proposition, but I think Jones has a much more attractive matchup. The Steelers are weaker against the pass than the run, and that will make matters more difficult for Brown.

Here's a homeristic question:
I picked up Reggie Brown in the 11th round. Should I start him over Andre Johnson or Rod Smith this week? Plaxico is my #1, and he's definitely starting, but I have serious doubts about Carr's ability to pass against the Birds' pass rush. I think Johnson is his obvious target and the Birds will play accordingly, especially now that Houston doesn't have a great second option like Gaffney! (I don't buy into Moulds at all.)
The Birds like to spread the ball around, and after Stallworth gets his bomb on their first play, I think Brown will see a good number of passes. I think he has a good matchup this week, and I'm not liking Johnson against the Eagles' D. In my mind, Rod Smith is too much of a question mark until I see how Javon Walker factors into Denver's offense.
I want to go with Brown. Any thoughts?

You guys are asking a lot of questions that are just a matter of going with your gut, trotting out anyone close to being a stud (as in Ronnie Brown and Caddy, at least based on ADP), and not second-guessing yourselves.

And with that said, I'm off to do my last, little draft (with ENY, BD, 736) and watch Happy Hour blend into the 2006 NFL season.

Reggie Brown could very easily have a stat line that looks like:
2 rec, 19 yds, 0 TDs
I'd go with Rod Smith. He remains vital, even with Walker, and is more likely to catch a TD.

Smith only had 6 TDs all last year in a full-time role as Denver's top receiver. Reggie Brown stepped into his role somewhere around mid-season and still had 4 TDs, despite the fact that Mike McMahon was the QB for many of his starts.
I'd hardly say that Smith is any more likely than Brown to score a TD.

Well...Ronnie Brown got stuffed, but I'll take my 2 cheap TDs and call it a day.
On the Rod Smith/Reggie Brown/Andre Johnson issue...you're damned no matter what there. I can say that any time I've been in a similar spot, the guys I sit have 2 TDs and the ones I start put nothing together. Your logic is sound, but it's just one of those things...

f-d, you're absolutely right. I'm sure I'll screw myself one way or another.
And who would've thunk Ronnie Brown would have had a Bettis-like statline?
