Alright...I'll list me team and details, but I need some advice on a trade.
The league is: 12 team, start 3 WRs, no TE, No flex player.
QB: McNabb, Alex Smith
RB: Tiki, Ronnie Brown, Frank Gore, Thomas Jones
WR: Torry Holt, Darrell Jackson, Eddie Kennison, Troy Williamson, Tony Gonzales
K: Rackers
Defense: Eagles, Cowboys
My team is loaded, but I need a 3rd WR I can count on. Williamson looked like he was going to be that guy in the beginning, but didn't pan out. Gonzo and Kennison have been somewhere between pedestrian and awful.
My best trade bait is Thomas Jones because I don't need him at all and he has some value. The problem is he hasn't produced that much and Cedric Benson is stealing TDs from him, so nobody wants to touch him. I foolishly rejected a trade before week 1 involving Terry Glenn for Jones, but I thought Jones would be good and Glenn might tank think year with Owens stealing touches.
At any rate, I have a trade offer on the table simply offering Keyshawn Johnson for Jones. He's the only owner in the league with any real interest because he also owns Benson and needs a RB.
I think Jones will earn more points than Johnson the rest of the year, but I also think Johnson would immediatly help me.
I just don't think it's a great value for me (starting RB for a WR who is the 3rd option in his offense), but I think I want to take it given my team and needs.
Anyone wanna give me a vote of confidence or tell me I'm nuts?

Keyshawn is good in a points per reception league, but Steve Smith is really the guy there.
Try to get Jennings from GB. Someone might not know what they have and give him up for a T. Jones type player--good luck.

I always love seeing people with teams that have 6 guys on it that were gone before the end of round 4 in my 12 team league.

F-D, you given any thought to getting past bye weeks and maybe trying to move Ronnie Brown for a more upscale WR?
Then maybe pick up Michael Robinson in case Gore goes down?

Tough call, I'd try to get his better receiver above Johnson. Consider how much stronger you're making his team, whether you have to play him still, if he's a bottom feeder or nipping at your heels. I'd be more likely to take that trade if he's a bottom feeder and you can fill a small hole in your team, but if he's your closest competitor and it's his hole in RB that's holding him back, I'd only take his best receiver for Jones. Otherwise, stick it out and play your third receiver with the best matchup each week.

The problem is we're in a modified keeper league. Right now, we're allowed to keep 2 players and they can't be at the same position.
I kept Ronnie Brown from last year and was thinking he'd be my keeper running back for a few years, but he isn't really producing this year and when I've seen the Dolphins play he just doesn't look that good. I think Gore is going to be a big time back and will be a stud in that offense, so I've pretty much made up my mind that I'm going to keep Gore at the end of the year.
However, I kinda wanna keep both through the year if possible to see how things play out and what my best choice will be. With Tiki saying he's going to retire, the last thing I want to do is trade Ronnie Brown and have Gore tear his ACL for the 10th time, leaving me with nothing this year or next.
I did reject that trade, though. I made some other minor moves that netted me Leon Washington (before his big game this past Sunday) and am still trying to move Jones for something.

The way things broke, I just got a little lucky. It's a two player keeper and I kept Ronnie Brown and McNabb. I also had a disasterous season last year (my top 2 picks had season ending injuries and everyone just stunk it up), which led to me having the 2nd overall pick this season.
We don't do a waterfall draft...just a standard draft like the NFL (worst power ranking has the #1 pick, #13 pick, etc.).
The way things went, I had McNabb, Tiki, Ronnie Brown, and Torry Holt after the first 14 picks and got Darrell Jackson and Frank Gore in the next 2 rounds.

So you keep McNabb and Holt, what's the problem? You gotta give up a little to solidify the lineup for the stretch drive in a keeper league.

I'm not going to rule out dealing Brown, but I guess I don't know if I need a 3rd WR THAT bad. I have Kennison now and while he's not a superstar, he's not bad as a #3.
My thought process includes this year and next. With Brown, Tiki, and Gore I feel like I can suffer a season ending injury to one RB and still compete for a championship and I'd like to keep those 3 unless I get blown away with an offer.
Keeping Holt and McNabb would be a possibility if the worst happens, but it would be virtual suicide for next year. Say I win it all this year and have the #12 pick next year. Everyone keeps one RB and I have the 12th overall pick. About 10 of the 11 guys in front of me will grab a RB with their first pick.
That means I'll have the 22nd choice of RB in my league and that guy will serve as my #1. By the time my second pick rolls around, I'll be lucky if I can pick up the ugly side of a platoon situation. I could realistically end of with 2 RBs who split carries as my backs unless I get lucky somehow.

That's a bit of a tough spot, F-D, but I've learned the value of a great WR. I understand the need for RBs, and your Non-snake draft makes it even tougher for you, but I would absolutely think that Holt is a more valuable overall player than Ronnie Brown come this time next year. I was in a vaguely similar spot this year in one of my leagues with the 10/11 spot. I thought that the best value on the board at the time was WR (granted this is a PPR league) and knew that if I went WR/WR I would be scrambling for a RB. I did it anyway and went Holt and CJ and ended up with McGahee, Portis, and Ahman Green at RB. In the case of Holt it's worked out real nicely. In the case of CJ, well, I am 3-4 and hoping that turns around soon.

Alright...I worked a deal last night that netted me Chris Chambers for Thomas Jones.
I know the Dolphins offense is awful and their QB situation is disgusting, but I'm feeling really good about having Chris Chambers as my 3rd WR without giving up a player I needed.
Just has to be subjected to the league vote and otherwise, I'm free and clear.

I know no one really cares abotu my fantasy team, but because this is all related I wanted to add this.
Chambers is coming onboard the championship train.
In a weird twist, I also landed Greg Jennings. A team with a lot of injury problems panicked when Jennings hurt his ankle and dropped him for a healthy body, so I picked him up off waivers and it looks like the injury isn't so bad. He may not play this week or next, but I now have Jennings as my 4th WR.
